You can obtain a kind of "house" during Great House questlines. Also, you'll get a house in a point during Main Quest.

But, as for buyalbe houses, there are none. But there are mods for that.

Not in the same way as in OB and Skyrim. You can get a house as a reward for progressing in one of the Great Houses but that's about it. You can also adopt a vacant house unofficially or even move in to the corner of an occupied one. This is possible because there is no respawn in MW so you can safely leave your stuff anywhere even outside on the ground.
Of course, if you're on PC, there are mods for houses.

for these house mods, how big are they in terms of size, because my video card svcks... only like 64mb of dedicated memory, and i don't want to be downloading a 1gb file... thanks though :P

House mod file sizes can vary greatly. If it's just a house using standard game's assets, it can be as light as a couple dozens KB. But, if it's using new models or textures, it can jump to many more (like 5-40MB or more), but nowhere as big as 1GB.

ok i got "the best one" according to comments, i saw it, then when i went to go in it, the game said i was missing files... I'll get this one day i swear...

this may be in the wrong forums but what ever...

so i extracted the rar file to my morrowind folder, then i took the ESP file or what ever then pasted it in with the data files in morrowind... like i said, the house was there and every thing, but when i tried to go inside it said files were missing

Try this one:
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1853

It's only 14K and doesn't use any extra textures or meshes. It's also a great little house - one of my all time favs.

edit: generally you extract to the data files, not the main folder; you probably have some files in the wrong place. I usually extract to a desktop folder so I can see what's in the mod first and then manually move the files.

Also, it should be mentioned that your dinky video card should have ZERO impact on which house mod you use. So, don't be afraid to try a more detailed housing mod, if it suits you. If you don't like it, just uncheck the file.

And if you're playing as an evil SoB, you can always break into some poor commoner's home, kill them, get rid of the body, and move in. ;)

Just as good for a non-evil character if you do a quest and the sorry misguided commoner ends up dead as a result, and leaves behind a vacant house. I can think of at least one quest in Seyda Neen and a FG quest that leave vacant houses, that you could easily do with a low-level character.
