Hello, just got a copy of Oblivion GOTY edition (PC) from an UK ebay store, the box format is not for the European version but is the one for the US version, but on the front and back covers in says "not for sale in the US", also there is no 2K logo on the box, manual and dvd's. If someone can help i would like to know which version is it.

Why is it important?

It is fully patched and that would be the only reason why you would need to know the different types. As far as I know, there are only two english version, North American and UK, so if its not to be sold in the US it would have to be the UK version.

The UK version box is the standard DVD case, this one is in a larger box (the one used for the USA version) but it says "not for sale in the US". I would be sure to not have stumbled on an Asian bootleg.

That's strange... I was not aware some games had that. Seems kind of ridiculous. My copy of Oblivion doesn't say "Not for sale in the UK"

Yeah. I could perhaps see that on the Quebecois edition but then the box would be bilingual and it would be easy to identify.

I'd guess this was a review copy or something similar. The copy of Rogue Warrior I got from Bethesda has a big "Do not sell before 12/1/09" and I doubt the actual retail copies had this.
