A Nod to the Past

Here we are on the day Fallout 3 comes into the world, and 20-ish years ago the franchise began with Wasteland.

This thread is a nod to the past, celebrating Wasteland, its sequels (including Fallout 3) and the post-apocalyptic playing field. I hope this message finds you well and enjoying your new purchase, or excited while installing said purchase.

I know when I was a kid (I'm 28 now) Wasteland was my FAVORITE computer game. I loved it to the point where I had to be dragged away from the computer to stop playing it. And I'm anxiously awaiting my download from D2D to finish, so I can install and play the latest iteration of the series.

I haven't seen much mention of Wasteland on these boards, and that's part of the reason I'm posting this. If you think Fallout 1 was the beginning of this series, think again. Unfortunately, I do not have a link to post referencing Wasteland, but I am sure you can wiki it.

Have a nice day and may this franchise live a long(er) and very healthy life!

Fallout was only a spiritual sequel to Wasteland, wasn't it? I've only played like 10 minute of Wasteland, so I'm no expert though.

Technically yes, but without Wasteland there would be no Fallout :)
