Hello everyone this is my first fan fiction. I had all these ideas while I was reading the forum and dicided to write my own  English isn't my native language so please have mercy  Also please feel free to write your opinion and suggestions. I'm planning to start this story on two main ways. Also the first two chapters will be a bit boring but this is where I would like to introduce the main characters. But don't worry there will be plenty of shooting and killing later :gun: :D

Crossroad

1. A simple patrol

Defender Lisa Anne Stone was on night guard. Not that anyone would want to attack Fort Independence. But still there was valuable technology inside and one can newer know when a group of raiders high on psycho or jet decide to try the impossible. So Lisa was taking her job seriously patrolling around the building.

It was early in the morning, probably around 5 o’clock, when she heard some noise from one of the rooms. It was a small gym with some weights made mostly from junk, where Brotherhood Outcasts could train. She decided to take a look. The door was opened and there was a tall guy with mid length black hair who was doing some chin ups on a bar. She stopped and examined the mans body. He was very muscular. There where a couple big guys among the outcasts, but this one was different, he was big but at the same time symmetric with a wide upper body and a slim waist. She just realized she newer saw such a body in her life. The guy must have noticed her as he stopped his workout and turned around. He had black eyes and an icy expression with no feelings at all. Now she recognized him. He was Protector Robert Fenix the leader of alpha squad, which was the elite of the Outcasts.

“Is there a problem?”

He asked with a cold tone.

“Nothing sir! Just on night guard”

She answered with an agitated voice. They looked at each other for a moment.

“I’m… I’m going back to my duties sir!”

Robert nodded. And watched the woman turn a round and walk away. He smiled. Then he got back to some weights and continued his training.

After the workout he had something to eat and went to his room. Tonight they will leave on a patrol so he started checking his equipment. He took a look at his T-45d Power Armor. Unlike the other Brotherhood Outcasts armors his was completely black with a red Outcast insignia on his right shoulder plate. He examined the armor and saw that it’s in good condition so he took his weapons and sit to his desk. He was using an AER9 Laser Rifle. A weapon which he loved and mastered. It had a scope on it. Not for sniping but for observing. He also took a look at the focusing crystals but everything seemed all right. Next came a modified AEP7 Laser Pistol. The range/damage ratio was adjusted so it would deliver a much higher damage at close distances. Being a side weapon Robert didn’t see the point to fire at long ranges with it. Strangely enough when he shared his idea with some outcast soldiers most of them rejected it.

He was ready with the maintenance when a big guy entered the room.

“Hey Boss!”
“Hello Cole”

Robert turned to the visitor. He was tall and robust with very short blonde hair. At first he may look as a typical "no brain just muscle" guy, but Robert knew that Augustus Cole was actually very intelligent. He was the big gun specialist in squad alpha and the best minigun operator Robert has ever seen.

“So we leave tonight?”
“Yes. I’ll talk to Casdin in a moment.”
“Did you have breakfast?”
“No not really but I had a snack”
“Well then, let’s eat! We don’t want all those muscles disappear do we?”

They smiled and left the room. Robert really liked Cole. They were friends since they were kids. Walking owards the dining room Robert saw Protector Casdin so parted ways with Cole and went after his superior. They saluted each other and took a walk on the corridors.

“So what’s the mission?”

Asked Robert

“We have been searching for technology all around the capital wasteland, but we didn’t really venture inside DC. Now I know that it’s infested with Super Mutants and those damn so called Brotherhood of Steel kids but we all know that if there’s a place where you can find valuable stuff that’s DC.”

They reached his room. Casdin went to his desk and showed Robert a map.

“This place is a warzone and I don’t want to take part of it. If the BoS wants to fight then very well. We however stick to our main goal.”

He took a short pause

“We have to start exploring DC. But we are low on numbers so I can’t send just anyone in there. You and your squad are the best so you are going to be the first. Your mission is simple. Enter DC via the subway tunnels and explore this area.”

He pointed at the northern part of DC.

“I’ve sent out a couple of scouts last week and it looks safe. They ventured quite deep inside without any difficulty. Your task will be the same but also look for anything valuable. Here are three objectives a RobCo shop a radio building and a garage. Now they may be cleared already but who knows. If you find anything bring it back. Simple.”

Robert nodded. It was a simple mission. However he was happy that they finally decided to enter DC. They searched most of the region outside, and besides other teams can continue searching outside DC. Alpha squad however was the elite so it seemed normal that they were sent to DC.

“Ok. I’ll gather the team and we leave tonight.”

When Robert entered the dining room he saw most of his squad inside. Cole was eating with Allen and Garnett. They were both Brotherhood Outcast defenders, a rank which would normally not be accepted into alpha squad. But Robert saw them fighting a couple of years ago. Their group was attacked by two dozens of super mutants but they managed to signal for help. Robert was leading a normal unit back then. They received the message and hurried to aid them. When they arrived they saw two Brotherhood Outcasts flanking and maneuvering around a bunch of super mutants and killing them one by one. By the time they were close enough to open fire Alan and Garnett killed almost all of them. When Casdin decided to create alpha squad and pointed Robert as leader he immediately requested their transfer. Since then they were the assault team and they were doing a fine job.

As Robert entered the room a guy saluted him.

“Sir”
“Doc”

Robert saluted the man. He was Protector Arthur, the medic and electronics expert of the team. Arthur wasn’t the fighter type although he was quite a good shoot and he killed enough enemies in his life. However he was a good medic and had significant knowledge on electronics and technology in general. He also had a good word for anyone in the team.

“Alpha squad”

Everyone turned towards Robert.

“I just talked to Protector Casdin and… where the hell is Ace?”
“Here I am.”

Robert turned towards the well known voice. Protector Sophia Miller just walked in. She had short black hair and green eyes and a beautiful face. She wasn’t wearing armor just a black top and some grey pants. Enough to see her perfect body as she walked gracefully to the table and sit on it smiling.

Robert looked at her for a moment. He noticed that everyone else was doing the same. This was always happening. And he was always asking himself why he accepted a woman in the squad. Not that he had anything with women, but Sophia was too beautiful and men are men. But the truth was that Sophia wasn’t just beautiful, she was probably the best sniper among the Brotherhood Outcasts. She proved her combat abilities many times. Nonetheless Robert was angry because her behavior.

“Protector Sophia Miller. Where is your armor?”
“I’m just getting it replaced as the last ones radio emitter wasn’t working properly”

She smiled at him. And that made him very angry. He wasn’t that pain in the ass commander and he was quite opened with his team. He didn’t need all that “Sir Yes Sir” [censored] but he did expect discipline. He took one more short but icy look at her then he continued.

“We’ve been assigned an important mission, alpha squad is going to enter DC. The objective is to scout an area and search for valuable technologies. We leave tonight at 2000 hours. The expected duration of the mission is three days. Pack your gear accordingly. Questions?”

He waited a second.

“Dismissed!”

Good story! A couple of spelling/grammar mistakes that I really don't want to point out... Apart from that, 9.9/10!

Haha, it's not like my stories famous... Not a single one of my pieces that I wrote are as long as yours... You managed to jam pack everything and still make it look good, so for this, well done! (Oh and do you think I should write more for The End of Steel? I'm trying to find inspiration and first I want a comment... Cough, lol,)

Ok I'm done with the second path or how to call it  So here it is. Basically this ends the introduction.

2. The Holly Grail

Paladin Alexander McNeil suddenly woke up as he heard footsteps. He quickly reached for his laser rifle but he realized he was in the citadel’s sleeping quarters. The door was opened and the noise was made by a patrolling Brotherhood of Steel soldier. He lay back with a short sigh. It usually took a couple of days until his mind would accommodate with the idea that he is in safety and noises don’t mean possible danger.

He lay there for a couple of minutes thinking over his last mission and the current situation. First time in his life he had doubts regarding his superior. His last mission was a waste of time and resources.

“Maybe the Outcasts were right, maybe we have become to idealistic. They were only raiders”

He thought about it for a couple of seconds, but he shook his head.

“Damn, what the hell is wrong with me? I’m a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin not a traitor”

He felt strange, he thought about sleeping back but in the end he woke up and went to his power armor. His body felt numb and tired and for a couple of seconds his bed looked very luring, but he turned to his armor again and looked at the black insignia. Alexander was the commander of an elite Brotherhood of Steel squad called Black Steel. They were all experienced soldiers who have fought many battles in the wasteland and at the moment they were the best BoS squad.

“Sending the Black Steel to deal with raiders is just stupid”

He looked at the armor for a couple of seconds then he leant towards it. Equipping it proved to be a difficult task in his condition and a few sighs from his roommates made it clear that he made too much noise. He stepped out of the room and headed towards the dining-room.

After having a quick breakfast Alexander grabbed his AER9 laser rifle and started to clean it. Not that it was in a bad condition, but he got used to maintain his weapons whenever he didn’t have anything important to do. Besides this way the probability of a failure was significantly lower, and most important it was relaxing for him.

He finished cleaning the AER9 and was already adjusting the focusing crystal of his AEP7 laser pistol when suddenly brotherhood members started to appear around him. Most were looking for some breakfast, others were talking and joking. He looked at his left hand wrist, there were a couple of displays on the armor, one of them showing the time.

”Eight o’clock. Elder Lyons should be up by now”

As soon as they arrived yesterday, he was notified by a scribe that the Elder wishes to speak with him personally. He thought about going right away but he had to do his report on the mission, and by the time he finished it was past midnight, so he decided to visit him in the morning. He also wanted to think about the situation. They were good friends and he knew Lyons would listen to him, but nonetheless he felt that having doubts in his superior made him a traitor.

Alexander went to Elder Lyons private quarters. Two Brotherhood soldiers were standing at the door. As he wasn’t having his helmet on, one of the soldiers immediately recognized him.

“Paladin McNeil”

Both saluted him, gesture which he returned.

“Elder Lyons is expecting you, sir”

Alexander nodded and went into the room. Lyons was sitting at his table reading some papers. As soon as he saw him enter, he stood up and greeted him.

“Alex, my friend! Good that you are here.”

He smiled, as he looked at the man in front of him. He knew Alex since he was boy. They found him during their march towards DC several years ago. His parents were traders and they often took Alex with them so he can see the world. On one of these trips the caravan was attacked by raiders. All the advlts were killed but they kept Alex alive probably to sell him to some slavers. Luckily they run into a Brotherhood recon squad. Since then Alex wanted to become a Paladin. He trained very hard and wanted to be the best. He was also smart and tried to learn as much as he could. He asked the scribes to teach him how to read and whenever he had free time, he was reading whatever he could find about weapons, tactics, history or anything he found useful for a soldier. But that was long time ago now he was a real man. Tall with short brown hair and brown eyes. He had a determined look and a strange aura which let you think that this man can do anything. Although he was only 30 years old his expression was of a man who has seen much in his life. Maybe too much.

Alexander nodded.

“I hear you wish to speak with me sir?”
“Yes, yes. I have a very important issue I would like to discuss with you my friend. But first let me congratulate you for your last mission. Dealing with that gang of raiders near megaton was important, they attacked every single caravan in the last two months.”

Alexander nodded again but this time there was something in his look.

“You seem to be unhappy Alex. What is wrong? Your report shows the mission was a complete success and it was perfectly worked out.”

Alexander looked straight into his superior’s eyes. He hesitated for a second.

“Sir, I think this mission could have been solved by another squad.”

He paused for a second

“I believe our experience could be used in other places. I admit this band was a lot more organized and well equipped then the usual raiders, probably because of their leader, Brain. But nonetheless a normal Brotherhood squad could have dealt with them.”

Alexander stopped for a second. Lyons didn’t answer so he continued.

“I believe there are more important issues at the moment and we aren’t working on them efficiently.”
“Alex, Megaton is one of the most important settlements in the region. Cutting it off the trading routes would have severe consequences on the economy and the politics of the capital wasteland.”
“Sir, I totally agree with this but I don’t think that dealing with raiders requires one of the most experienced Brotherhood of Steel squad. My men are part of the best. And they could help a lot more in fighting the Super Mutants. I mean we have been fighting them for years, but we still don’t know what they are exactly or where do they come from. Even with our superior weapons and training this war is getting way to long.”

Alexander stopped. He felt guilty. He felt he was openly arguing with the elder.

“And how would you defeat the Super Mutants?”

Asked Lyons with a calm tone.

“Liberty Prime“
“Mm?”
“I know it’s not functional yet. And there are a lot of problems with it. But still we have a weapon which could change the capital wasteland. If the scribes are right Liberty Prime could easily clean the area of Super Mutants. We should focus on getting the technology and information needed to make Liberty Prime functional. That should be our main goal.”

They looked at each other for a couple of moments, then Lyons added with a smile:

“Well Alex, you are right. This fight is getting out of our hands. This is why I want to speak with you. You and your squad are the best we have.”

He stopped for a second, he looked into Alexander’s eyes and continued with a very serious voice:

“Searching trough the pre war files, our Scribes seem to have found an underground military facility in this area. We don’t know much about it, but it was a highly classified objective before the war and according to the files it could be an advanced technology developing plant.”
“Where?”
“It’s located in the northern part of DC”
“We had a lot of expeditions in that area but we haven’t found anything”
“Yes because it’s an underground facility, but we may have data on a possible hidden entrance. Now like I said, we have very little data, but this facility may hide technologies we never dreamed about.”
“We have to get there immediately”
“Yes my friend. You and your squad will leave tonight. You have to find the facility and explore it. We don’t know anything about defenses but we assume that such a facility should have a defense system. Your objective is to find and secure the target. Then a group of selected Scribes will be dispatched and we will start gathering any valuable technology. And if our data is correct, there is plenty of it down there. This could be our holly grail”

Alex was very anxious. He was heading towards the sleeping quarters. They just arrived yesterday so his squad should be resting.

He was right, the Black Steel members were all in the room. Paladin Lazlo was the first who noticed him. He nodded and turned to the others.

“Attention!”

Everyone stood up, and looked towards the door. Alexander took a look at each one of them. On his right was Paladin Lazlo. He was a tall sturdy man with short black hair and a mustache. He was second in command. Next to him was Knight Stevenson and Knight Budiansky the two generalists of the team. They were both relatively small but that made them quite agile. Budiansky was especially good in close quarter combat due to his outstanding reflexes. Behind them was Knight West. He was a bit strange as he didn’t talk too much. But he was a damn good scout and sniper. He was recruited at an unusually high age, he was 25 when he joined. But this turned out to be his advantages as he was a caravan guard until then, thus gained quite a lot of experience in the wasteland. The last man in the room was Paladin Lee the heavy gunner. He was recruited since he was a child and grew up in the Brotherhood. He was a good friend of Alex and was well known for his loyalty.

Alexander nodded

“I’ve got good news and bad news”

He stopped for a second

“The good news is that our fellow Scribes seem to have found a facility which may contain some very important technologies. Technology which could be used to gain a definitive advantage over our enemies. And it’s right here in DC”

The men were looking at each other as they become more and more excited.

“Also good news, that we won’t be fighting raiders anymore. Black steel has been assigned to secure this objective”

Alexander stopped again

“The bad news is that we are leaving tonight. Sorry guy no time to rest now”

He looked at his men. They were all excited. Another unit would be disappointed to hear they won’t have their rest. But this was Black Steel and they were the best. He felt very proud.

“Ok men, let’s start packing. We don’t know what we will find there so take anything that might be useful. We meet for specific briefing at 1800 hours in the Great hall”

He saluted his men and went out of the room. He had to see scribe Rothchild for further details.

You are doing a great job so far. Be sure to add a twust or two to the story. I really hoped I havent figured out what going to happen over the first 2/3 of the story.

But dont get me wrong at all. I am very excited about this story so far. Just try to avoid predictability, alright.

P.S.: I like how you chose the Outcasts for this story. There just aren't enough stories that include them you know.

3. The square

Robert walked out of Fort Independence and took a look around. The sun was setting in the distance making the sky and clouds look orange around it. It was getting cold. Well at least compared to the daytime temperature, but it was enough to give him a chill. He went towards the group of men that were gathering in the yard, the members of Alpha squad. He stood right next to them and examined them for a moment.

They were all wearing the black T-45d Power Armor just like he was, except Protector Sophia or Ace as they called her. She was wearing a Recon Armor with a camouflaged cloak on it. Sophia was holding a DKS-501 Sniper Rifle in her hands. Allan, Garnett and Arthur were holding their AER9 Laser Rifle and they were laughing probably on one of Garnett’s bad jokes. Cole was talking to Protector Henry Casdin and was checking his Minigun meanwhile. They all had some small bags attached to their armor containing ammo, grenades, food, stimpaks and other supplies.

Alpha squad formed a line as he approached. They all looked at him, he nodded.

“Ok Alpha Squad. We leave in 5 minutes. As you all know we are going to enter DC via the subway tunnels. Our objective is to map the area and search for any kind of useful technology. We aren’t going there to clear the place”

He stopped for a moment. He knew very well that although this was a small 6 person squad including himself, they had a very high combat value. They could easily take on Super Mutants or whatever threats they would find in DC. But this wasn’t their objective. He wanted to do this as quiet as possible.

“We will avoid unnecessary conflicts.”

The team nodded.

“Any questions?”

There were no questions. He didn’t expect any actually. This was a simple mission after all.

They left Fort Independence and headed in the direction of Megaton. Using the maps created by the Brotherhood Outcasts scouts Robert planed a route to enter DC from the north.

Nothing really happened during the first part of the trip. They reached and left Megaton at dawn and just crossed the bridge near the Super-Duper Mart when they all heard Sophia’s voice in their helmets headsets.

“Brotherhood at 3 o’clock”

Robert made a sign and everyone crouched. He went to Sophia and took a look trough his rifles scope. He couldn’t make out the exact number of the Brotherhood squad because of the dark. Their helmets had light-adjusters which helped at night but not at such a far distance. They were coming from the Citadel and they were heading in their direction along the coast. Or maybe they would turn left at the Super-Duper Mart and go to megaton? Whatever was the case Robert didn’t want to wait until they get too close. He never wanted to engage Brotherhood of Steel soldiers. Although they parted ways a couple of years ago, they still fought together for years and he had many friends there. He respected them because they were good soldiers. Shame they didn’t understand that getting so involved with the settlers around the Capital Wasteland was a waste of resources, men, time and most importantly it was a risk to humanity. Humanity could only evolve from this stage if they can reach the pre war technological level. Or at least get close to it. In his eyes Elder Lyons was the one to blame for this situation.

“Lets move out Alpha squad. Keep you heads down”

They moved out, Allan and Garnett was leading the way with Cole and Arthur following. Sophia and Robert were behind still observing the BoS squad as they were advancing. But it was obvious that they haven’t been spotted.

Robert turned around and hastened his pace in order to reach Allan and Garnett when suddenly he heard several gunshots from the back. They all stopped and crouched as they went to cover. The sounds were coming from the Super-Duper Mart. Robert took a look at the BoS squad. They were attacked by some targets which just appeared from behind the Mart. He took a look trough his scope and immediately recognized the huge humanoids. Super Mutants, half a dozen maybe. But others were descending the hill behind. Another half a dozen as he could make it out. He put away his scope and looked at the sight for a couple of seconds. He couldn’t make out a lot, just the trails of bullets and lasers. It was quite nice as they lighted the area. Soon a couple of explosions light up the place even more. Probably grenades.

“Move out”

He turned around, and continued towards north. The Super Mutant attack came just in handy as it would slow down the Brotherhood of Steel squad in case they would also want to go their way.

The sun just appeared on the horizon as they entered DC.

“Pay attention from now on. This is enemy territory”

Robert has been in DC a couple of times before mostly back when he was still in the BoS. He always had a strange feeling when he entered this ruined town. The sight had a great impact on him. He just looked at the ruins and tried to imagine what it was before the war, a bastion of civilization, a symbol of mankind and now… only ruins. But this wasn’t the main problem. He was the commander of a squad and for him DC was a tactical nightmare. The surrounding ruins provided excellent cover for ambushes. There could be an enemy behind any building, behind any wall. It was impossible to move throughout DC without taking risks. And he was someone who hated taking risks. He wasn’t coward, no not at all, but he always wanted to win. And dying meant loosing. He was a great tactician and strategist always searching for the best situation. Unlike others from the Outcasts or the BoS he didn’t take retreat as something unacceptable. There have been situations when he decided to fall back to another position or stopped an assault if he saw a too big chance of failure. He only entered combat when he was sure he could win otherwise he avoided it until he could find out how to gain advantage. He always said there is no point to engage in combat if you can’t win. For Robert the heroic deaths were just romantic stories. He would die for his men or for the Brotherhood Outcasts but only as a last resort.

Nothing happened in the first hour. But when they reached the square with the subway station, Sophia who was scouting ahead detected a couple of Super Mutants in one of the buildings. They were probably trying to ambush anyone who wanted to enter the subway or anyone unfortunate enough to exit from it. Nonetheless they made quite a noise so it was easy to spot them.

Robert was looking trough his scope. He saw a Super Mutant Master with a Chinese Assault Rifle and three regulars with hunting rifles but he wasn’t sure there weren’t more.

“There’s another one”

Sophia was lying next to him. They were behind a car wreck jut on the corner of a building. The Building with the super mutants was on the other side of the square right in front of them. The distance between them was around 300 meters as Robert estimated.

“Yes I see him. A Brute. Damn he has a Minigun!”

The Chinese Assault Rifle and the Hunting Rifles weren’t a treat for their power armor. But a Minigun could tore through it.

“We have to take them out”

The problem was that the subway entrance was in the middle of the square. There was no chance to sneak there undetected. They had to take out the mutants if they wanted to enter.

Robert took a look around the square.

“Not much cover.”

There were a couple of car wrecks on the square but that was all.

“Wait here”
“Sure”

Robert went back to the corner where the rest of alpha team was.

“Ok everyone, listen”

He took out the map Casdin gave him and showed it to his men. He pointed with his finger. It was a symmetric square. Four streets where meeting in this square, each entering at one of its corners. He pointed to the bottom left corner.

“This is where we are”

Then he pointed at the top left corner.

“There’s a two floor building here, with super mutants on the second floor. Right now it seems there is one Master with a Chinese Assault rifle a Brute with a Minigun and three regulars with hunting rifles. There may be more.”

He pointed at the middle of the square.

“Here’s the subway entrance. We can’t get in without being seen so we have to take the Mutants out. Now, there isn’t too much cover around so we will have to assault the damn building. Ace will provide sniper cover from the corner. She will take out the Brute with her first shot. Allan and Garnett you come with me. As soon as Ace fires we run for the building. Take only your rifle and a couple of grenades we want to be as easy as possible. Cole and Arthur you come with us and take cover behind the first car which should be around here”

He pointed near the bottom left corner of the square.

“You cover us from there! Cole I want those damn windows flooded with bullets. Try to keep the mutants away from them. Arthur you help out with suppressing the windows.”

He looked at them

“Questions?”

Cole lifted his Minigun.

“Let’s do this!”

They took off all their bags and put them near the wall on the corner. Robert grabbed 3 grenades with him and he saw Allan and Garnett do the same. He turned to them.

“Ok guys we have to move as fast as possible. As soon as we reach throwing distance we use the grenades. Be careful to throw them through the windows we don’t want any of them bouncing back.”

They were ready. Robert went and informed Sophia about the plan, and returned to Allan and Garnett who were waiting near the wall on the corner. Cole and Arthur were behind them. Robert reached for his ear and pressed a small button on his helmet. He activated his headset. The others did the same.

“We are ready, Ace fire as soon as you have a clear shot”

No answer came. Instead a loud shot of the sniper rifle. In a fraction of a second Robert yelled:

“Go, go, go!”

He was already running watching the distant Building in front of him. He felt adrenalin rush into his veins. The second shot came in a moment and soon the third. He ran past the first car when the first bullet hit the ground near him. He ran further. Soon a Chinese Assault rifle bursted and bullets were flying all around him, one ricochet of his armor. He wasn’t thinking, he didn’t have time, he didn’t feel anything. At the moment his only goal in life was to reach the last car which was close enough to the building to throw grenades from. He heard the familiar sound of Combat Armored footsteps behind him.

They just reached the half of the distance when Cole’s Minigun fired up. Suddenly the windows of the target building were covered with bullet trails and pieces of wall were falling apart.

They almost reached the last car when a huge muzzle flare appeared in one of the windows. He didn’t see what weapon it was because of the dust created by Cole’s Minigun. Then they were covered by bullets.

Instinctively he yelled

“Minigun!”

A good couple of bullets ricochet of his armor. He jumped forward and slid to the last car. Allan and Garnett were just behind him and they done the same but Allan came with such a swing that he couldn’t stop at the car and slid directly into it.

“[censored]”

Robert felt his legs numb. Sprinting almost 300 meters in Power Armor wasn’t something pleasant. He automatically grabbed a grenade, Allan and Garnett reached for their.

Robert pointed three, two, one and they stood up and threw them trough the windows. Robert jumped out and ran towards the building. A couple of seconds later the three grenades exploded filling the building with smoke and dust. He just noticed that no one was firing from the building. He continued running towards it.

They reached the building. Robert was on the right side of the door, Allan and Garnett on the left side. Cole stopped firing. But Sophia shot again. There must be mutants in there. Robert grabbed another grenade and nodded towards Allan who kicked the door and jumped back to cover. The grenade exploded. They rushed into the room. It was full of smoke and dust as paint was falling of the walls and ceiling. There were two rooms. Both empty.

Robert pointed at the stairs. Allan and Garnett rushed up, Robert following them closely. He couldn’t see too much because of the smoke and dust. They were on a corridor with four doors, two on the left two on the right. The Right ones were the ones facing the square.

They did it automatically, without thinking, breaching every door throwing a grenade in the room.

“Clear”
“Clear”

The first two rooms were clear. The one on the right had two Mutants in it, both had their heads shot off.

They reached the third room, which was the second on the right. Allan wanted to kick the door but a Mutant jumped right trough it and pushed him against the wall. Garnett was to close to shoot so he kicked the mutant. It was the Master. He growled as he was hit and turned against Garnett, when a laser beam hit him in the face. He stopped and growled again but this time in a strange tone like his vocal cords were damaged. The second laser beam hit him again and his head exploded filling Garnett with blood and brain.

Allan stood up and entered the room. He saw something move and shot instantly. He went back to the corridor just to see Robert exiting the fourth room yelling.

“Clear”
“Clear”

They stopped for a moment.

“All clear inside”
“Nice”

He heard Sophia’s voice in his headset.

“Yeah! Let’s see the BoS do that”

Cole laughed.

“Nice job Alpha team.”

They gathered in front of the building. Robert took a look at it. If the war didn’t destroy it this small conflict surely did. The fa?ade was full with bullet wholes, the painting and the walls were falling down making the dust and the smoke thicker. It all happened in less then five minutes. This was nothing special, just an ordinary day with squad alpha.

OK I have finished editing the first 3 chapters (there were some grammar/spelling mistakes and probably there still are) I also recomposed some sentences, nothing big but hopefully it made it more fluent now. I'll start working on chapter 4 but please give some feedback wether I should change something or what not to change... you know :D
