So I was doing the Next of Kin -quest for like the 100th time. I know that Perennia Draconis (the mother) can already be dead when you start the quest, but this was not the case. When I went to her house, she was alive and happy. I decided to kill her by reverse-pickpocketing her a poisoned apple. Yeah, now I know she never eats , but I didn't know it then, so I stalked her for two days. During that I went out of the house and back in many times. After two days of doing that I went out again to see if she'd fallen dead on her plants. Instead of that, there were a blue-robed Conjurer with a bound Daedric axe and a summoned Dremora chasing her around . I watched in horror when they killed her right before my eyes (she put up a good fight, though). After that they tried to kill me (I hadn't done anything to them), so I killed them. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know where the Conjurer came from? I found this pretty cool, cause I've done the quest many many times and never seen anything like this!

Do you have "Spell Tomes" plugin installed? That plugin adds a conjurer in a fort (I forgot the name). If you let him wait too long, he'll be looking for you.

That must be it! I have the newest megasuper-whatever version of Oblivion, so I surely have the plugin. A really bad timing for Perennia! Thank you for solving this mystery for me.
