[RELz] The Unique Landscapes Project

Do we need to update any compatability patches with the new versions?

I ask mainly because I was looking at the Chorrol Hinterland - Better Cities patch and it had some minor issues near the North Gate with some buried statics and the small paddock the ram is in outside the city walls. I made the necessary tweaks for my own use, I'd be happy to shoot it over to a member of the team if they want to look at it.

The location you refer to was not changed in the last update of Chorrol Hinterland.

Question about Jerall Glacier, which I'll put in spoil tags just in case:

Spoiler

Is Francis Stone's Monster supposed to be dead? Not undead, but actually dead, dead? I noticed when I went into the area where it appears it was already literally dead. Looking at things in TES4EDIT, I see the Health is set to zero in the creature record in the ESP.

Just wondering if that's actually intentional, or whether it was intended as an actual fight. Was slightly anticlimactic when I walked in, saw the surroundings and said ... hmmm must be something cool here... :starwars: ...and instead just found a corpse.

Thanks!

I posted this in the Frostcrag Reborn De-Isolated thread on March 23, but since I haven't seen a response there I figured I should go ahead and report this in the UL thread as well in hopes it might get added to the eventual UL patch list.

I've found some land tears when using Frostcrag Reborn De-Isolated in combination with both Frostcrag Village and Unique Landscapes: Snowdale. I'm running both the Frostcrag Reborn-Frostcrag Village patch from the FR De-Isolated archive as well as the Frostcrag Reborn-UL Snowdale patch from the UL patch archive.

The issue is that there are some cells where the two patches overlaps, resulting in landscape conflicts and some land tearing. The landscape conflicts occur in these cells:

14, 36
15, 36
14, 35
15, 35
16, 36
16, 35

There are also some path grid conflicts reported in some additional cells beyond these.

So, it looks like we need a Frostcrag Reborn-Frostcrag Village-Snowdale combo patch.

Here are some screen shots of more obvious tears. Coordinates are in the console window in two of them. Forgot for the first one, although the position is kind of obvious from the screen shot:

Thank you.

I think AliTheLord is going to work on the patch, based on the reply he just posted in the Frostcrag Reborn DeIsolated thread.

Just an FYI for anyone who might have been visiting:
Visit the Unique Landscapes forums, an alternative location to post comments.
The alternative location has been closed down.

I doubt I need to really mention it, but the project as a whole is more or less winding down into background maintenance. We have only one project still being worked on, River Strid. No, we don't have an ETA on when that will be finished.

We will continue to provide patches as necessary, but thankfully it seems a lot more modders are becoming able to do this and have been providing them where needed. That's always a good thing, but we're still here and the mods are still being maintained. Who knows, perhaps there will be a resurgent interest in large landscaping mods down the road. We'll still be here for anyone who decides they want to tackle something like this.

For those who may ask, we have no current plans to initiate a project of this nature for Skyrim. That may change later, but it will require some bugs to get fixed in the Creation Kit first. Most importantly, the navmesh bug I'm sure some of you curse as much as I do. Skyrim may not really need much in the way of large scale landscaping improvements anyway since Bethesda did a much better job on that this time around.

Arthmoor, I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank both you and Vorians for all the work you do on that "background maintenance" and the patches.

While I'm totally capable of patching a lot of other things in TES4EDIT myself, the one thing I've never really gotten a handle on is landscape editing or patching. I find the construction set panel for that kind of stuff totally unintuitive.

Hi, V. :wavey:

I just got through exploring the various dungeons/sites associated with Ancient Dwemer Ruins, and I think maybe you missed one of the sites with your Jerall Glacier patch. The site involved is in cell 24, 36. It's one of those caves that have a patch of black rather than the usual wooden door at the entrance. It's southeast of the Dwemer tower with the exterior ladder. In my game the cave entrance is totally obscured.

As for River Strid... I am so glad to hear it's still being worked on, and I'll be one of the first to download it when It's available.

And when it comes to Arthmoor, Vorians, and the long list of those who have contributed one or more of the Unique Landscapes... what could I possibly say that wouldn't be totally inadequate in expressing what they have added to my game. So... I'm not going to try.

Hi there Vorians :), Is there any chance a patch can be made between Snowdale and http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/780-duke-patricks-combat-magic-ii-duke-patricks-incursion-into-fortress-of-fear/

Contains Major Quest Spoiler, Do not click if you don't want to be spoiled!
Spoiler
The Necromancer's Tower, which is the main focus of the mod is currently buried by the terrain created by Snowdale - effectively making it look like it's been buried in an avalanche, not a bad effect but crucially the Main Entrance is completely covered up making it impossible to access without resorting to using the console. It's located just northeast of Namira's Shrine to the east of Bruma

Thanks.

Artorius.

I shall add that to my list of known conflicts to consider patching in the future.

the Reclaiming Sancre Tor - West Roads- Skingrad Outskirts is no longer needed because West Roads is now compatible with Skingrad Outskirts with no patch, correct?

Is it possible to request a patch for Brena River Ravine and WAC? there's a gnoll camp at the mouth of the river with a landscape tear.

nevermind, found the patch but I'm confused. should I use both RST - sinkgrad outskirts AND RST - west roads - skingrad outskirts or is the latter a replacer?

No idea. If West Roads has been updated and the author has stated that there is no longer a conflict, then you are correct that you no longer need a patch resolving a conflict between West Roads and Skingrad Outskirts, but you may still need a patch for RST and West Roads, and you will still need a patch for RST and Skingrad Outskirts.

Arthmoor or anyone else doing UL patches, is there anyway to request a patch for UL The Eastern Peaks and Onra's Tamriel Landscapes (Black Marsh Providence mod)? I find nothing but floating trees, floating rocks and floating mushrooms and floating plants all related to Onra's Tamriel Landscapes Black Marsh mod all floating where the Unique Landscapes Eastern Peaks location known as Vuls Volcan (The Eastern Peaks Volcano) is located at! So far I haven't found any other conflict between the two mods, and I have been all over the UL Eastern Peaks zone!
