I was watching a video on youtube of a graphics overhaul for Morrowind and the thing that struck me is the entire world is other worldly. Strange creatures, strange fauna, strange landscapes, even strange cities. Real high fantasy.
Now in Oblivion and Skyrim we get forests full of wolves Deer and Bears. Even Dragons are an earthly construct. A basic medevil clone.
What happened?

They made a mature, advlt, real landscape instead of a juvenile Fantasy Island.
