What are the pros and cons to pluginless mods compared to mods using esp (maybe esm as well) files?
I realize that a pluglinless mod lets you get around the 256 mod installation cap; LOL, I have over 80 pluginless mods installed in addition to about 130 mods that use esm and esp files. But are there other reasons that modders go the pluginless route?
On a tangent, it seems that a number of the newer mods (both types) are providing hi-res textures these days. Do these impact FPS in a game?
Some mods have started providing textures referencing UV or channel A, etc. I'm unclear on the correct terminology, but again, do these newer types of textures impact FPS if they're in the game?
TIA for explanations.
