I'm having trouble installing Fallout 1. It tells me it needs to install the latest edition of DirectX to work, which I installed...But than when I click 'Install' on the menu it tells me to install DirectX again?
I can't seem to get the game itself to install...can anyone help?

Sorry, Vista is completely uncompitable with Fallout 1.
My advice: Get Wine or move over to Linux.

Not true. FO1 from Gametap or GOG.com works with vista just fine.

OP: There were some issues with FO1 working in XP, as such the White box version included a modification to make it work... Although you could mess with the files and stuff to make it work (and I'm sure there are steps on NMA somewhere)... Your best bet is to probably sign up for Gametap, and play it on there (its free, and you don't have to mess about installing an alternative OS like some suggestions....).

I'll try Gametap but...it might take a while since I'm on a Dial-Up connection.
