How do I play the DLCs?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 1:08 am

Hey.

1st thread and I'm new with a noob question, I just got all the new 3 DLCs from steam but how do I play them? In fallout 3 you got a new quest but nothing is happening. So what gives?

So I read you get a quest about the Dead Money DLC but I can't find any info or help about the others. 10mins in game and no quest about DM, the game is fully updated.

Anyone ever manage to get a refund from Steam?

Weird ... do you have any mods on your game??Thar might be the problem. Or you could try checking the downloadable content option on the menu , if its not there it means the game didn't recognize the DLC's. If thats the case you should try downloading it again , or something like that. Hope this was helpful.

Fallout can't be found under "Steam Support" Not under Valve games or 3rd party. Nice, I'll just canceal it from my credit card then

You don't get Steam refunds, and it is very unlikely that one is necessary.

Did you get the mod Delay DLC? If so, you have to be within range of the signal.

If you didn't, I recommend pulling up either Fallout Mod Manager and making sure the DLCs have a check, or initiating the game launcher, selecting "Data Files", and doing the same. If it isn't checked, it won't load.

If none of the above applies, try right clicking on Fallout New Vegas from Steam, clicking "properties", go to the "Local Files" tab, and then "verify integrity of game cache". Let it do it's thing.

Also, one more thing, in order to make sure the DLC is installed, go to your Fallout data folder (Win7 64-bit is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data", without quotes) and check if " - Main" and " - Sounds" is present for all DLCs.

Thanks for the replys. I use no mods what so ever. I just purchased the DLCs from Steam and they installed, being in game nothing is avaliable to play. The worst thing is I can't any tech support what so ever anywhere, it's like "if our games work for you, good. if not, lol" No matter, lifes a lesson.

That's a known bug, usually deleting, and redownloading the DLC helps.

Did you check the data files to see if the DLC were checked?

Try doing what Ruined Requiem did if you tried what I suggested. That is likely to fix the issue if verifying the integrity of game cache doesn't.
