Are we gonna get another balancegeneral gameplay tweaking pa

Just curious if the devs intend on doing one last patch after New Vegas. Not for stability, but for game changes. Perhaps things like making Centurions, Deathclaws or BoS stronger or anything like that?

I wouldn't mind finished touches on Explosives(making things work). Although I don't think we need any Courier patches, but rather NPC patches such as you mentioned, BoS Centurions etc. Just because BoS have power armor, that's no excuse to put their health extremely low! The whole point of power armor is to make them shine over BoS in Recon armor! Fix Cent/BoS health!

I wouldn't mind some gameplay enhancements/balances since they have to release another patch for LR.

Need to fix a few things still as well Leadbelly perk is broken ( I know it's a poor perk, but if I take it for role I'd like it to actually work.)
I'd like a few tweaks as well, better store inventories and leveled lists, npc's in the main game with dlc weapons... perks for faction npc's etc.

I just want all the invisible walls removed.

Oh, and the mods that are supposed to reduce a weapons weight , should actually reduce a weapons weight.
Just a thought.

And stability is never a bad thing.

I would like the patch to allow for maybe one more trait or make Wild Wasteland not use up a trait slot. Or to make the YCS/186 and Alien Blaster obtainable by the same character.

Hopefully if they do they leave weapon damage alone, it just seems to me like they really got it right with the way they are now.

I'm noticing the new grunt perk matched with all other appropriate perks turns out to be incredibly weak past lvl 30.

Or maybe its intended that a legion man wearing hubcaps and football gear can continue running at me full speed after I just placed about 80 of the 100 rounds fired in his chest from 25 yards... from a thompson with any bullet combination =/

I hope there will be a re-balance in the future, as I've had to abandon my grunt character because if i were to carry 3 guns, 15lb of food/water, and fill the rest of my bag space with bullets for all 3 guns, I expend 70% of my ammunition taking down legion assassin groups having to go back and restock only to find the same legion assassin pack to drain me of ammunition again.

Boone's still broken until they fix his no-headtracking glitch. There just has to be another patch.

Another one came up again today and it's at Cottonwood Cove. When you eliminate the Legionairies, it still won't update the quest from Astor until I kill the Legion dog, who is a green tic on my compass because I have taken Animal Friend. That's just not right and it svcks to have to blast him to oblivion to end the quest. Please fix that too in the next patch. Thanks.

Dialing down the Legionary Assassin Team and Vet NCR Ranger Team spawn rates.

It's great that one of these can be a rude shock to a unwary level 40+ character, but they have such a hyperactive spawn rate that they can be farmed to quickly break the game economy. My high level NCR character, that doesn't use fast travel, is dropping one team every game day and yet Caesar sends more lambs to the slaughterer like clock work following the hidden homing beacon placed on her.

The only thing i'd like is Lucky Shades obtainable to anyone, not just Legion liked people. I prefer to kill them on sight :gun: , for experience.

I'd say that there's no more need to focus on tweaking/balancing the game as much as to really try
to nail down all the broken quest scripts, missing textures, NPCs AI logic and such.
From what one can read around these very boards, the v1.6 patch has introduced a few serious glitches
while trying to fix very old ones.
A few examples:
Spoiler

* Primm folks not leaving the Vikki&Vance casino after completing My Kind of Town (no matter which path is taken)
* Weapons not being returned to companions inventory after leaving Gomorrah
* Missing textures for Novac motel's and bungalows
* http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1212655-mass-purified-water-recipe/page__view__findpost__p__18156271 reverting to old crafting recipes

The only real "good" patch for me so far is v1.2, which came out back in December of 2010.
So long and... Cheers!

I'd welcome a patch that would fix all the broken perks out there. The best strategy would be to release the last DLC and then fix all the problems that come with it - release a GOTY patch that presumes you have all the dlc's installed that fixes the game up. The problem with DLC's is that they fracture the players and it's harder to pinpoint a bug and fix it as it may only effect a specific combination of DLC's.

Go GOTY and then fix everything that you can.

One thing I don't understand why it hasn't been in any patch yet is that the challenge "Demise of the Machines" ends after Rank 2 and doesn't start Rank 3 (The Dialogue after completing Rank 2 actually says "Rank 3 completed" but only the Machine Head (2) perk gets added and no further challenge is available). All other challenges of this kind work perfectly fine but for some reason they don't seem to fix this one.

All I care about are the quest/other bugs/glitches and of course stability.

Combat balancing and other such stuff isn't required and I'd rather they spend their limited time on the technical issues.
If one still really wants gameplay changes after all this time, one can buy the PC version and use mods.

The only real "good" patch for me so far is v1.2, which came out back in December of 2010.
Heheh....that's about how it works for me too. That was definitely the version that I was most happy with overall, even tho it did still have some issues of course.

It was a fix patch pure and simple.
hand loading, constant companion shoutouts, script bugs..etc.
It did however leave a load in that were easy to spot ( but I don't have to fix stuff so who am I to talk.)

Before that we had unkillable ghouls, radscorpions... most creatures tbh added into the game tbh, set to essential in the GECK.
After we got the poison death glitch, crashes, loading errors.. etc.

During, before and after we have a very special shout out for tinman / Morte ED-E.
I swear that bot should get an award and be made into a cultral reference for generations...

I:E Pilots: Ground control we have a problem, we avoided the missile but now appear to be stuck in place mid air, please advice?
Or William Shatner: "There's....... something on the wing, SOME....... ED-E I tell you.
Sport: So we tried to grab the ball from the ED-E, that's when it went hostle and started attacking everyone.. a real red card on that ED-E Dan.

I do appreciate the efforts that Obsy/Beth teams have been putting forward to improve the game,
but I sort of get the impression that efforts (post-v1.2) where somewhat lost because the main goal
hasn't 100% been the fixing of the main game but to get an upcoming DLC not collide with it (too much).
Patch v1.2 was (as I view it) really aimed 100% at fixing most of the known problems
without introducing a whole set of new ones.
Compared to it, v1.6 and earlier are to be considered "less than successful",
since albeit featuring quite a number of appealing fixes and enhancements,
all of them also introduces a not negligible number of new (some pretty serious) problems.

Cheers!

Im glad they patched the assasins but they messed it up. The level lists are reversed- the assassins spawn as centurions with high level weapons at low levels and their equipment actually gets worse at higher levels.

Makes no sense!

"I want LR so bad,I just might kill my self",thats what muggys sayin to me right now.I love obsidian for puting out these mega patches, but I hope they do it after LR this time so

1.They can patch any problems with the dlc.

2.i want plenty of time for this one,so I hope it comes out sooner rather than later. After I play LR,Im guna start one last mega file with all the dlcs, and try to do every thing.Ive played, and enjoyed the crap out of this game, and it has been my main video game since it came out.Skyrim will be taking its place, and Id like enough time t do a mega playthrough before I retire it(for a while at least).

#2 was more of a personal thing, but #1s my main reason.I dont want this bein like MZ,comes out buggy, but its the last dlc,so it gets no support(obsidians prity good with the patches though, but id rather them have thier last tune up patch be after the last dlc so it can be fixed if need be).

Either way, heres to LR,keep up the great work Obsidian. :foodndrink:

In HC mode: Much higher overall impact from combat skills (accuracy - spread with hipfire, wobble with ironsights, reloadspeed, holstering and unholstering speed, recoil impact), higher impact from weapon degredation, and also much higher negative impact from lacking the soft requirements, a bit less health and somewhat lesser XP rewards to slow down the leveling -- adjusting the skillpointeconomy and overall XP need for leveling up would also be preferable. That's what I'd want from a patch, everything else seems to be in order.
