I'm doing some quick re-search for a mod and am just going to see what input I can get from fellow forum members who may already know the answers to a few of my questions that I'm looking into or whether that information is even available yet.

Who is the current leader of the Synod and what is he/she like?

Who is the leader of the College of Whispers?

What are the relations like between the Synod and the College of Whispers?

Nothing is known about the leaders as far as I'm aware.

Their relationship is strained and fraught with politics. They seem to always be in competition and keeping secrets to promote their superiority, which is degrading the state of magical learning in Cyrodiil.

1. There is a document in skyrim that mention Cyrodillic officials within the Synod, but these documents don't convey enough to place them properly within the hierarchy. (if memory serves, it gives there rank, but doesn't give us enough to know anything except that this guy is more highly ranked than the guy who wrote the document)

2. no flipping idea.

3. Hostile, political intrigue, always trying to one-up the other.

THe Synod is interested in gathering artifacts of magical power, and are liable to stumble upon or abuse something that won't do any good for them.

Thanks for the summaries. I'm guessing their isn't to to much known of either faction. What about where they are based in? Is the Arcane University in Cyrodil being used by any of those factions currently? Or is it gone or undercontroll by another faction?

If memory serves (it's been a while since I read Infernal City), the College of Whispers moved into the AU. That may have changed in the 170 years since though.

It's never specifically stated, but their students are found around the IC, so it's a safe assumption.

Did find something else in IFC, the College apparently calls its branches "cynosures." As in "there is a cynosure in Water's Edge." The Synod's branches may be called "conclaves," or that may just be Keyes' word choice.

Interesting, making note of that and verifying it soon. Almost half way through Infernal City, absorbing lore.
