Texture problems when rending far land (and trees and buildi

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 10:59 am

I have just purchased the on sale game of the year deluxe edition from Steam and have played through the sewer level and left into the outside world. I had all settings on high (no AA) and land around me and in the distance did not all have correct textures. I found that disabling the rendering of far land made the textures appear. However, I then noticed that all textures were still not right. All textures are applied in giant rectangles and end abruptly and make the world look like a quilt. Also, the grass is extremely dark and I don't believe it is supposed to be like that.

Lowering and changing all settings did not correct the texture layout. My computer has up to date video drivers.

Here is an imageshack album I have uploaded to display the multiple graphical issues I am having with my experience.

Go to your video options, and make sure texture size is set to Large.

Go to your video options, and make sure texture size is set to Large.

It still has no affect.

Did it tell you you had to exit the game for the changes to take effect? Does your game crash on exit??

My game has not crashed once. I spent a good hour tuning all the settings in the launcher and ingame menus and made sure I restarted the game every time I made changes. No matter what the settings or how much I restart the game, it is enabling the ability to see far land that messes up the rending of some textures. But as you can see, the wilderness floor textures aren't very pretty to behold for me either. I can't believe such a gentle graphics bug seems to be unique to me; I can't find any similar problems!

WAIT A SECOND ~~~Update!~~~

The odd non colored blotches around the environment is NOT the terrain! I can walk through them and there is terrain underneath! It is like there is bugged ground fog covering some area!

You're running on unsupported hardware, with ToggleLiteBrite enabled. That is what is causing all your issues.
