Skyrim Sonnets

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 7:28 pm

Hello, I'm in some desperate need of some Sonnets that involve Skyrim. My English teacher loves Skyrim, so as a joke I said "I'll do a Skyrim Sonnet!" I meant it in good humor, But now I'm stuck with a sonnet and no idea how to do it with Skyrim. So if you could contribute to this lovely topic and help me come up with a grand Sonnet, and for just good humor it will be much appreciated.

I know very little about sonnets, but my worksheet says it needs to be a 'ABBA' Sonnet with 10 syllables, and 14 lines long.

Also: I'm not sure where this topic would be placed for maximum effective-ness or for appropriate sections, so Moderators, if this is in the wrong section please move it

Try http://www.gamesas.com/forum/31-elder-scrolls-artwork-and-fan-fiction/. Some of us do poetry occasionally.

Oh Awesome. If a Mod comes in here, can you please re-locate this topic?

I think you can request a move with the 'report' function but I'm not 100%. A bit of exposure here wouldn't be a bad idea, wider audience and all that.

Yes, if you report the thread to a mod they can move it.
Its about 30 years since I wrote a sonnet and I wasn't much good at them then.
I do remember iambic pentameter being involved whatever that is :unsure2:

well you can always write an ode to Talos or a song to blame the thalmor, waiting for the day when the empire will be free of those racists disdainful elves who bring only hate to nirn.

How about a ode the great saviors of Mer, and a song to blame the awful Talos?

Is it too follow a-b-b-a, a-b-b-a, c-d-e-c-d-e? Why not do it about what you think the next game will be about?

An ode to the great king Ulfric Stormcloak
Who led the Empire's legion's to waste
But now stews in woe, his own forces paste
The great king to be, oh what a great joke

The fine people of Skyrim; simple, plain folk
Can enjoy life, but oh savour the taste!
The Thalmor are coming; their deaths now haste
Their fate is now sealed, behind a great smoke

With forces all spent, Thalmor now unchecked
But oh, in the distance, a hero comes
Their name is unheard, their face is unkown
The fight will rage and Altmer's will be decked
A mighty army now strides, beating drums
An army comes with victorious tone

Mind you this was down hastily and in the wee hours soo... It's bad... but something like that?
