Saviors hide, leather all else. top it off with the green mages hood (its actually brown), and you got a snazzy outfit to go hunting in

Male bosmer

Okay, male Bosmer with no mods:

If you are really talking armor, then leather or fur with maybe Savior's Hide.

If clothes are an option: Green hood, forrester shirt, laced leather pants / hunters leather pants / fur greaves, leather boots, bracers if you like. If you insist on no armor, use stitched leather shoes instead of boots.

Not many choices in a plain vanilla game.

There's the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Artifacts#Armor_Artifacts stuff and the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Armor#Light_Armor_Images stuff that can be enchanted by you or from a random drop/chest.

I have found that if you are a good stealth archer with 100 in Sneak, Marksman and Agility, you don’t need armor. I use an enchanted bow (25 Shock) with Elf arrows. I also use poisoned arrows for the big dudes, so that helps, too. You can’t run around like a frenzied 12 year old high on overdoses of sugar and expect to accomplish much. You have to be patient and let the enemy give you the best shot. Stick to the shadows and walls of the dungeons and hunt at night on the surface if you have problems with being detected.
