Nords, Bosmer, Breton, and Redguard females all missing skin

I'm using HGIC body with F-INev high rez skins

for some reason, the females of the races I listed above all have missing textures for body, hands and feet. I'm not sure whats causing it, the meshes look right but the skins just arent there

Edit: High elves too. But for some reason I have 2 high elf races in my selection, one has the skin textures and the other doesn't, its kind of puzzling

It sounds as though you've installed the meshes but not the textures. Most body mods work by making it so that the foot texture contains the information for the entire body. If you still have original foot textures which only have information for feet, you'd probably get results like what you're describing.

This is assuming that when you say the skins are missing, things are looking weird and crazy. If you just mean that you're getting vanilla-like skin textures instead, then that could be an issue where you need to re-BOSS and rebuild the bashed patch after installing the right ESP.

The meshes are definitely there, and the skin texture replacements are working for every race except the ones I mentioned.

Its seems the bosmer, altmer, redguards, nords, and bretons all take their skin textures from the imperials folder in textures/characters

In my game the imperials are normal, have the upgraded skin texture and everything, but the others just have the bright pink missing texture

Its like something is getting in the way there

Have you checked the directory structure of the archive you installed from?

Also, are you using OBMM or BAIN, or are you installing manually?

And have you enabled Archive Invalidation (i.e., Redirection)?


edit: Also, you probably should not have "two High Elf races". Please post your load order (use the Wrye Bash method, thanks).

It's semi-common for body replacers to provide ESPs which re-map the human-like races' skin textures to their own folders, rather than Imperial. Often this is to provide the capability to vary the skin textures by race, like with Ren's Mystic Elves how there are versions with tatoos. The package you're installing probably has some kind of instructions related to this. If all else fails, you can probably copy the body textures from the imperial folder to the other human-like race folders.

Oh, that makes sense. I think the version of slof's better bodies I was using caused it. I just wanted it for the beast races, so I deleted the texture folders it provided for nonbeast races

But the esp was trying to assign slof's textures to the human races anyways

I guess I'll have to tinker with the esp to fix it

In the meantime, I just wanna get something straight with BAIN

If I want to install HGEC meshes and textures, then replace the faces with natural faces, the skins with F-INev, and then the beast textures with slofs, do I do HGEC towards the bottom in the installers tab, or would it be at the top of those I listed

Slofs Better Bodies is designed for Roberts Bodies, not HGEC.
You can try (1)deactivating this one mod, (2) adjusting your install order, (3) replacing HGEC with RF<--- this is an option, since RF has complete clothing and armor replacers for FCOM, (4) modifying your RM replacer to use the meshes and textures from this mod for the males.

If Better Beasts is available as a separate mod, You could use it instead of Better Bodies.
I install replacement (non esp dependant) body meshes and textures toward the end of my Install Order in BAIN. My install Order is RM Version 5, then EVE, then individual meshes and textures last.

What I did was make my own custom bain installer, using HGEC as a base, then installing the faces and skin textures I wanted on top of it

Unfortunately slof integrated her better bodies mod into her better beasts mod and I can't find the latter anywhere, so I'm gonna have to recreate it myself x_x
