you bethesda

Do like Konami did with MGS and revamp the graphics to Morrowind and drop that ish on the 360 by this time next year. I'd love to actually play that game for more than [censored] and giggles like I originally did on the OG Xbox.. but it just looks awful.

I'd rather them doing something else than remaking a game that's already had its time.

I hope Bethesda never remakes Morrowind.

Why?

Because they cannot make such a great game anymore. Somehow they lost 'it'.

Furthermore, please do not post in ALL CAPS as it's rude and spammish. This goes for posts and thread subjects; thread subjects also shouldn’t have gimmicks and what not intended to catch people’s attention, such as starting and ending it with a string of asterisks.

I love how I mention Xbox consoles multiple times in my post and you try to come at me with PC bull-ish. Pay attention next time.

If your suggestion is that they remake Morrowind and only release it on the 360, then that's just silly and not something Bethesda would do. They would obviously put it on the PS3 and PC, too. However, revisiting old games is not something Bethesda has ever done and probably something they'll never do again. They, wisely, want to spend time on new content, as they should, because the old content is fine. Part of Morrowind's charm is its graphics. (Additionally, I don't care what anyone says, modded Morrowind still doesn't look so amazing. There's a reason all you ever see in videos are wilderness and stuff, because NPCs still look dated as hell and there's not much to be done about that.)

So you play Morrowind on outdated hardware, complain that it looks bad and argue that instead of updating the hardware, Bethesda should make you a new game instead?

Morrowind doesn't look awful. The visuals are dated and primitive by modern standards, but the art style and direction are so aesthetically pleasing it makes up for it. Besides, it's just graphics. If that's keeping you from playing the game, go play something else.

they don't need to revamp it. it's not that bad and it'll still play on today's hardware. I thought and still think the graphics in morrowind were mind blowing at the time - with the exception of the character models. that's really a minor detail if you're into gameplay. unless you're some kind of weirdo that is complaining about the models because you love to disrobe them and umm... *cough, cough*...

anyway...

what can't be played on today's hardware is pretty much anything pre 1999/2000. Not because of the massive changes in pc hardware and architecture but because of idiosyncracies with video card hardware - name matrox and 3dfx. I don't know why so many of those games will only play on those cards - especially since 3dfx was absorbed by nvidia. They won't though. Just try and find one of these cards in working order - and an isa board - oh, and legacy slot chips...

*rolls eyes*

I'd much rather see daggerall and arena touched up to run on today's hardware. Not redone - just made playable. I'd like to see them as they were. As it is, there's no chance of that.
