Agreed. This is monkeytruth until proven otherwise.

The rise of the Thalmor seems to be closely connected to the fall of Crystal-like-Law, one of the Towers. It occurs to me that another of the Towers is Walk-Brass, also known as Numidium, the Brass God, or the big stompy robot, and that Numidium is supposed to be somehow outside of time and space, continuing its struggle to conquer the Summerset Isles, against Altmer wizards who travel in and out of time and space to fight it.

I wonder if the fall of Crystal-like-Law enabled some of those Altmer wizards to enter this time stream, or at least lend strength to their allies within it. That is, the Thalmor are led by the Altmer wizards who are resisting the conquest of the Summerset Isles that occurred at the beginning of the Third Era.

At first that sounded absurd, but the more I think about it the more I like it.

Me thinks the head of Thalm[OR] is some kind of thinking machine. Thot-box or Digitals (if leader is present by several machine "persons") or anything else. And he/it/they print the directives on the memospores or echopages. The possibilities are countless.

The Thalmor are Altmer mirror-logicians who got tired of fighting Numidium and chrysalised back into N1RN to grief the descendants of Talos' R3D C0nquest. Partly because they wanted revenge but mostly because they thought it would be easy.

It comes from me. I just figured I'd screw with people by putting MK's name on it.

Yup. Maybe his name is Arlyesh Hershur. His assistants are: Jebulles, Shymmithur and...someone else. Maybe he has a wife named Arnya Velthuma and a pet named Carizal. (I'm being both snarky AND serious here.)

But since they're pretty much Elf Nazis, I think however Hitler constructed his Nazi government, that's how the Altmeri Dominion looks.

I'm figuring that whoever holds nominal power, whoever is the big boss of the Justiciary likely wears the pants. The one whose job it is to fulfill all the negative stereotypes of the early pocket guides (killing babies for genetic imperfections, etc).

The mudcrab merchant.

Want to know how he became the leader of it though? well..
Spoiler

He used the profits he made off a lurking traveller full of junk to hitch a ride on a passing prison ship.
This prison ship, after being attacked by marauding flying argonians who squawked terror, shipwrecked near Winterhold.
After signing many nord squealing fangirls briasts, the mudcrab merchant sidewalked to Winterhold and became an adept mage of the college..

..one day, a few months later, an experiment went wrong of his. This experiment was to use a scroll of icarian flight on Winterhold's foundations.
He thought making a city float would be original, might even get him a position as Archmage. Yeah! imagine that, Mudcrab Merchant the Archmage.
Well this experiment didn't work as planned. It kind of made the poor Mudcrab Merchant go through several walls of rock.. and destroy Winterhold city's foundations.

The hardy little mudcrab landed in unknown shores, upside down. But a familiar sunburnt melonhead was familiar to his sight and helped him up.
Oh it was Arrille! that sneaky launderer from Seyda Neen, with noble looking clothing? odd. Well the story goes that he returned to the Summerset Isles a few centuries ago. Set up a little business with an old bosmer friend of his.

Arrille happened to be the only altmer in the summerset isles to kill a daedra (accidently walked into a scamp with a butter knife) during the Oblivion Crisis. The other altmer witnessing the event were astonished and he used this to leverage his position among the current government.
Eventually he boasted that the altmer saved all mer kind by shutting the gates themselves, to gain even more respect from his fellow altmer.

Well the little mudcrab heard all this and his business sense tingled for a moment- he could see an opportunity in this!
So he told this crafty altmer that he should take an old idea and make it fresh, new once more. Arrille thought it was brilliant.
They created an empire, once seen before. But now with new ideas. Aldmeri Dominion it is called from lands beyond.

The inner councils of the thalmor call it.. the West Mudcrab Company.

(heh and don't point me to the fanfic forum! that story is for a laugh)

Yeah and no one wants to kill the Mudcrab Merchant, he's just too helpful! :cryvaultboy:

I sold him an army's worth of Indoril Armor and glass weapons. Gods' know what he could do with all of that.

There really outta be a nifty explanation for the MM, like with Creeper.

Call it suspicion but I feel he is a servant or an aspect of Hermaeus Mora.
A secret instigator who's endless supply of septims fuels the fate of Red-Tower failing and thus begat possible entry to the Oblivion Crisis.
Never trust the claws in any case, they'll pinch your soul or them items of yours, maybe even pinch you underwater when you aren't looking. :ermm:
