Nightengale?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 12:11 pm

So, i was looking through the intro topic for things I might have missed, and I noticed that Jagar Tharn is called "Nightengale." Is there any connection between Tharn and the Theives' Guild?

it's actually "Nightgale".Yes,they are an order connected to the Thieves guild. And looks ike that they are connected to dark brotherhood too. They are a rank of Elit Honored Thief/Assasin's that sweared and gaved their life to the mistress "Nocturnal" the Deadric Prince of shadows. In exchange they got the powers of Nocturnal such as becoming undetacble and having the ability to turn the enimies agaisn't themselves.
So maybe yes....if he is called a Nightgale he may probaly be one in secret.Homever they are..well exctinct.

I'm, of course, personally sad that we don't get a Tharnatos Inheritor. I know those books leave the door open an inch, but I would've liked more exposition to the man (elf, whatever) who posed the most significant threat to the Empire since... sure, why not, it's founding.

'Course we can discuss the validity of Gallus' view of history as opposed to Plitinius Mero's via Barenziah's own admissions.

Where did you see any connection between the Nightingales and the dark brotherhood? i haven't see any.

And the Nightingales aren't extinct obviously, since you see two of them in game and can become one.

I'm here on call from the ACLU, and I've heard you were recently brutalized by the Spelling Police. You may be entitled to millions in damages.

But yes, that little coincidence with Jagar Tharn is speedily explained in The Nightingales books.

So almost "extinct".Homever since the DB and the Thieves Guild share the same abilities, what's the possibilities of one from the Dark brotherhood being a Nightgale?

Possiblility doesn't matter, its showed as being related to thieves and the thieves guild only, nothing of a dark brotherhood connection is ever made in any books or in game. Nocturnal is the patron of thieves, not of assassins. And warriors share similar abilities with assassins too, (skills with blades, archery) doesn't make them connected in any way.

And again, how is it almost extinct? their was always at least two member (aside from Karliah, mercer, though he went rogue was none the less a nightingale, guess where his soul is going once he dies.) and is recomposed to its full 3 members when you join.

There was Only Three?i should read more books in skyrim i thinked that the Nightgale had like 100 members before...Anyway,some very powerfull/skilled dark Brotherhood member could leave the DB and be chooseed by the NightinGale.Don't know, but it's a possibility.Just like a guy from the Thieves Guild, that was once a member of the DB.But left.If i'm not wrong.

Karliah when you join states that the trinity has been restored, indicating that its a group composed of three at any one time, both the stones and platforms in the Nightingale hall all are in 3s, further indicating that its a group composed of three at any time.

Sure a dark brotherhood member could join the thieves guild and become a Nightingale potentially, so could a mage or a warrior though, being an assassin has nothing to do with it, being a great thief however seems to be the prerequisite.

That and TES has a noticeable lack of the number 100 anywhere in it. You'd swear they run off a base 3 counting system.
