are you going to do anything special in oblivion, just before

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:08 am

i mean literally the day before the game comes out.i am trying to think of something meaningful to do,to celebrate the game, and the joy/hair pulling it has given me (i will come back to the game though  any suggestions as to what you might have planned in the game.even if it's a way to transfer from oblivion to skyrim somehow (roleplaying).i do quite fancy walking all of the main path around cyrodiil and finishing off with setting camp at dive rock (then saving).i know this much though,i will somehow be transferring my character to skyrim (as a descendent).over to you

Nay, nothing special planned here. I don't see myself permanently abandoning Cyrodiil but rather rotating between it and its successor. Now I might well absent myself here till the newness of Skyrim wears off, however long that takes. In any case my avatar is liable to spend the day in question following his normal routine of patrolling Cyrodiil's main thoroughfares and collecting taxes-due. That seems fitting somehow.

I doubt I'll be getting Skyrim now but, if I did, I don't think I would do anything special. I know I didn't do anything special in Morrowind when Oblivion came out. If I ever do get Skyrim it will not impact any of my Oblivion games or characters in any way. They will continue, unaffected, as though Skyrim had never happened.

It's a nice idea, though. I like it.

^ this, for me. Although I'll probably concentrate on Skyrim for a few weeks, I can see myself coming back to Oblivion when I fancy a change.

I totally didn't plan this, but Rayn and Arum have bought the Anvil manor together, so I see my absence from Oblivion as them cleaning it up and making it habitable while I'm away. It seems like a perfect place to leave them whilst I take a short absence, then when I return it'll be back the the usual adventuring. I don't have anything special planned for Skarsgard (he's new) so I guess I'll just leave him wherever he happens to be when 11.11.11 rolls around.

I'll still be lurking around the Oblivion forums, even if I have nothing new to post about where my characters are and all that. In fact, I have no intention of going on the Skyrim one after release until I've discovered a good portion of the world by myself. So I'm afraid you won't get rid of me that easily

I really don't know. Doubtless I'll play some Oblivion the "day before", but I don't know if it'll be a special session, or my usual run with Eradi~Kate or my newest character Lady Saga. I won't know until 11/10/11, actually.

Seeing as I have never completed the MQ for oblivion because I just bought the game edition with the steel box about 2 weeks ago, I won't be doing anything special

Sky-what?

Skyrim. It is TES V. A game that after it has been out for at least a year or two, I might take a look at.

So what will we do right before Skywhat comes out? Oh probably make some poisons or play in a waterfall. Or maybe hunt down some necrodudes. You know, the normal stuff we do every day. :foodndrink:

I'm starting a new character who'll be escorting Viconia through the Underdark in Oblivion. Skyrim can kiss my butt.

Nothing at all, I'll buy Skyrim now just because it will get tight on money later this year, although I won't be playing it until I feel like I'm done Oblivion, which won't be for a while....

I agree. I play both Oblivion and Morrowind, and doubt I'll get Skyrim until the price drops, the mods are out for a year or more, I have a more powerful system, and friends I trust can report its as great as the pants-creaming kid reviewers for the major sites. That's quite a lot of conditionals. :D

Oblivion and Morrowind are almost infinitely replayable because of mods. I can ignore Oblivion's really underwhelming main quest for more than 150 hours of extra gameplay, and I've much to do in both titles. That said--if you plan on getting Skyrim, consider getting some mods for Oblivion to do something different. It's a neat idea you had, but don't cut yourself off from the idea of returning to the older product at some point in the future.

I was all fo getting skyrim straight away, but right now I've just got into oblivion again, there is so many things I haven done, the main ones are the MQ and enter SI for the first time. Ive just reached level 22 with my warrior and I'm really starting to reap the rewards with him, he's a beast with almost all attributes maxed and good with blade, blunt, block and restoration.

I'll probably continue grinding through this game, one day i swear I'll finish it !
