Hey im starting to see a trend. Im noticing that being a dark elf fan, i tend to disagree more with argonian, khajiit, and nord fans more often. So Id like to hear from anyone, why you love your race of choice, and who in a sentence you are. lets see if we can find some correlations between the races and attitudes.

ok let me make make this relevant than. what is it about the stereotypical character of the race that you see in yourself? I dont want to go to general chat because i think i can get a more precise answer out of the lore forum.

I for one prefer Argonians, Khajiits and Bosmer and it's not that we share many similarities, it's just that I like their looks and their history. I doubt one can prove some sociologically acceptable theory about TES races appeal to certain demographic segments.

I prefer Orcs, Dunmer, and Redguards.

They dont have mutual histories. Redguards despise Orcs and drive them from their land. Orcs are often used as mercenaries by Nords when doing raids in Morrowind.

I love Orc history and lore. The new look is [censored] awesome!
I love the new cultural look of the Redguards with the Arabic influence
And my first character in the TES series was a Dunmer in Daggerfall (dont care for their lore, just the look)


I never liked the boring average ness of the Imperials, and have understood the love for Argonians

I play Argonian most of the time and I don't disagree with anyone based on their favorite race, it's childish. Gameplay preferences > race choice, after all we're playing the same game.

Bosmer. Just look at them.

Am I the only person who likes the Imperials? I know theyre not as interesting as most of the other races, but a group that has been able to run an Empire that has so many different cultures in it has my vote. I also just like the parallels they have to the Romans (I'm a Roman history buff).

The Ra Gada (or Redguards) are my favorite race. I relate with their sense of honor while maintaining their sense of not-really-giving-a-[censored]. Their culture, their pantheon, it's all awesome. But I don't think you'll find a very big consensus between why people like the races they do, as people like them for all kinds of different reasons.

bosmer do look badass. interestingly enough, during the days of morrowind and oblivion when the bosmer looked, well just not badass at all, they earned my respect and attention unexpectedly at a little bookshop called "Jobasha's Rare Books". In his bookshop was the only complete set of the series "A Dance in Fire" ive ever found in game. I read the whole 7 books. After that, i said "Hey i kind of like these douchebags". Lol. Now they look awesome though so theyre not so questionable anymore

Oh thanks man.. . I dont actually begrudge them. but on the forums. sure ill debate whether argonians would defeat dunmer in random scenarios. Or why I like the dunmer pantheon over the hist. Im a nerd its interesting

Either Redguard because of lore they were involved like the game Redguard, HoonDing, Cyrus the Restless, their victory against the Thalmors, or how badass they start in term of stat; the Argonian because they are walking lizard that ISN'T deem the "evil race" like so many other games that has lizards as a playable character (other then Wizardry 6-8) and lizards are just cool.

My thorn against the Dunmer is more that before Skyrim, every poll ever in this forum involving the races of the Elder Scroll always has the Dunmers as the most voted, whether or not they are relevant to the actual poll itself.

I tend to play as an Argonian for most of my characters, as I enjoy the lore behind them, and I tend to find them hilarious for some reason. They always seem so sarcastic and have a strange almost dry sense of humor. Mostly though, their race constantly encounters racism, and had to endure generations of slavery at the hands of the Dunmer (my second favorite race), but they endure through it. They seem like they can just shrug off anything thrown at them and that makes them seem strong to me.

Khajiit. Played one as my first race in every ES game. Gotta love the furries, man.

I don't like how they made the male bosmer taller this time around - I liked the smaller, more compact size. When everyone's tall, nobody is.

Most people in real life are bland that's why. They put themselves into bland characters and like it when the story to thrusts them into adventure.

I tend to like all races for the most part. I hate the Aldmeri Dominion however which gives me dislike of the Altmer especially.

I tend to play as human races because I feel more attached to them as I am able to get more immersed. As much as I love Argonian and Khajiit I always find it harder to play as one for some reason.

Dunmer.

I like them because they're misanthropes, they ride around on twenty foot tall fleas, and they live in giant mushrooms.

Orcs.

Code of Malacath, large importance on making their clans as strong as possible. Nords like to talk about how tough they are, but Orcs actually make good on their claims.

Bosmer.

Short barbaric cannibals.

While I don't play as them, I like the Redguard's pantheon. HoonDing, The God of Nobody Really Cares etc.
