Using Abot's Water Life 1.19

Started a new game.

Read the book. Put on the ring. Oddly, I see no additional fish in the water. What might I be doing incorrectly?

Various species of fish (catchable with a fishing rod) will tend to appear after you've been in the cell a while, especially while you're not looking directly at the water. In shoreline locations, small crabs (spearable for crabmeat) and occasional empty shells (with a chance to be collectable as alchemy ingredients) will also appear. I rarely see the added fish when I first enter the cell, they tend to either swim in from an adjacent location or spawn in the deeper places and swim toward the surface.

The river fish will rarely respond to your efforts to bait them until your fishing skills are higher. The ocean fish are easierl

Also, you can/should finetune the mod using the configuration ring, most relevant settings are:
"Minimum tolerated FPS for adding a new creature" (that is, do not spawn if Frames Per Second are lower than this, default value is 12, if your are seeing nothing because your FPS is lower you need to decrease it)
"Spawning speed factor" (1 by default, set it higher for more faster spawning)
"Fish frontal spawning percent" (20% default, increase it for more frontal spawning at a "popup" effect price
For a more relaxing swimming experience, I suggest also enabling the
"New style slaughterfish/dreugh" and "Less aggressive predators" options

Thanks I dont plan on fishing much but it'd be nice to see some of the fish in the mod when I go exploring underwater for things.

Are there any mods that add underwater plants? Seems kinda barren.

This mod adds http://abot-morrowind.tk/index.php?option=gallery&catid=38&Itemid=49&page=7&total_items=127, in the same sparse/dynamic way though. A good mod adding to underwater scenery in a traditional way should be Detritus' http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=989

I love this mod, can't play without it.

abot, I saw an Elder Slaughterfish once, does it come from your mod? It was a great experiencie, helpless on the water and that giant fish attacked me from behind.

I think so, name is right and my mod spawns most things behind the player by default. As there are several mods using the same creature models (e.g. Creatures, Wilderness using Cait's fish animations), a way to easily know if a creature is spawned by one of my mods is opening the game console and clicking the creature: if the creature ID you see in the console window header starts with ab01 prefix probably it is from one of my mods, and if it starts with ab01wl it is from Water Life.
Also more generally if the selected object is defined as new object in a mod, if you type ORI in game console usually you can see the mod name.

I have a new world of Islands I made and have been modding them for several years now, after installing the Morrowind 2011 that included waterlife my world brightened up with trees, plants, animals, insects, birds, bats and flying fish.
I also having NPCs that walk in the air .
At first the flying fish seemed silly but now I like them - I know it's not s'posed to be like that but they seem to fit Morrowind's fantasy world perfectly.
Another surprise was bees flying around in my Xmas bar as they are attached to a yellow flower I decorated with - this upgrade is the greatest thing to have happened to any ElderScrolls game since Morrowind first came out and helped make my mod exciting and new again.
What great modders Morrowind has and abot you are one of those great modders.
