Lookin for some 201112 Morrowind suggestions!

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 4:20 pm

Hello folks!

So I just recently had a hankerin for some old school TES III: Morrowind action! (Mostly because Skyrim is being a JERK right now and im waiting for it to become more stable...But I am in a non-Oblivion TES mood =P) And I am lookin for some mods that have come out now since I stopped playing, like God knows how many years ago...lol

I am planning on downloading the "Morrowind Overhaul: A mod compilation" that adds all sorts of textures and graphics and all around improvements from a BUNCH of different mods...So the mods I am looking for would hafto be compatible with that =)

Anyways, I am looking for mods that mostly change the combat, and game mechanics to a more "up to date" version. I believe the mod covers redoing the old armors and clothes meshes and textures, but what are some good armor/weapon packs that are more quality to go along with this overhaul (and compatible obviously)

Also, I would welcome any suggestion that you think is a must have mod for revisiting Morrowind in this day and age that is also compatible with the aforementioned mod.

About the combat mods, do any of these have new animations that could make the swinging and thrusting and just...killing in general look better?
I know there are a few animation mods in the Overhaul, but I am not sure if they have any effect on combat or the PC for that matter, because in the mod list under the animation mods it said it just added new NPC's with new animations, but not new ones for my character.

Anyways I would really appreciate some feedback and suggestions for those who still play Morrowind to this day!
Thanks!

I've made a few over the years and collaborated on a few others that either add to or change some aspects of the game. I have a link to my modding website in my sig if you want to peruse them. The Wolflore download links don't work, but the PES and GHF ones do; I'll eventually get around to fixing the Wolflore ones.

Cool thanks =)

So it says wolflore is the "advlt Morrowind Modding History and Alienslofs Hive" I know what Alienslofs Hive is, its her website right? But the advlt modding history is just all the "advlt" themed mods made for Morrowind over the years? Is it just from you or everybodys advlt mods?

Also, even tho Wolflore is down am I still able to dl Slofs mods nd such? Like, I dunno if Vampire Embrace was her mod, but I remember it being excellent and I though she played some sort of role in making it, but is that still obtainable? And will a modlike that and your mods work with the graphic overhaul im dling?

Thanks for the suggestions btw! =) Checking out your site now

Wolflore isn't down, the links to Jac's mods are just broken. Wolflore is another gaming forum with mods. Some are advlt themed, some aren't, and not nearly all of them are for Morrowind. You can download anything you find in the general section, but you'll need to register to access the advlt-themed mods.

I was under the impression that everything would work the Overhaul... isn't is 99% graphical updates and bug-fixes??

(I don't use it personally)

MGSO by KINGPX is a sound and graphics overhaul. If you're talking about some other overhaul compilation, it's anyone's guess what might or might not be compatible.

Since you are using the Overhaul, I believe that Morrowind Rebirth conflicts with the new trees from the Overhaul. That was in 1.2 and it's now at 1.4 so I don't know if he fixed that. The issue was the new trees would either be floating or colliding with new houses or other things added by Morrowind Rebirth. The major area with the problem was Bittercoast, so just be aware that swamp might have some tree issues. I heartily recommend Necessities of Morrowind as it's the quintessential realism mod. I also like BTB's mod but that is kind of a hardcoe difficulty (you'll be poor for a loooong time) mod.

What is Morrowind Rebirth?

And is Necessities of Morrowind like a "FNV hardcoe mode"? Like eating sleeping and drinking required? Because if so I am all about that! :)

wow it looks really cool...Its really not compatible? That is svckey...Cos I think the overhaul uses vurts aswell?

Also, what was the sweet Vampire mod where you could make others vampires and such? Was that Vampires Embrace?

Also, what is the best Combat mod to use that works with the Overhaul?

Also, im lookin for some sweet armor and weapon packs...Not nessecerily individual ones because that would take forever to get a nice collection of user made stuff...lol

1 more thing I swear..lol, but has anyone figured out how to have weapons visible while sheathed? Like swords at hip and stuff? Thanks =)

If u want to change default combat animations you may want to try out my mod Combat Redefined which in turn will also allow you to perform 9 moves with your weapon compared to default`s 3 though some animations may not please you coz they hav not been worked upon much.

Link to Combat Redefined is in my signature

For Combat Redefined I wud recommend u install the Non Animkit version and if any problems in getting it to work occurs just PM me.
Coz u might encounter some problems in setting up the keys.

Would be starting to work on Combat Redefined II near the the April of 2012 not before coz of studies going on.

Btw Merry Christmas to everyone here!!!!

Return to III - Morrowind
