I find it interesting that this new-year MK stuff seems to contradict, or at least not sit easily with a lot of the prior Monomyth stuff. I'd like to think the Monomyth is a piece of Elder Scrolls mythos you can take or leave like any other. Skyrim's total rejection of exploring it was telling, I thought. I personally like my Elder Scrolls without simple Anu/Padhome dialectics. As far as I'm concerned the only people who get to decide what the objective reality of Mundus is are Gods and Ruling Kings.
The Aldudagga fights are so fun because they offer us a brand new way to completely disregard past lore. What has MK given us? The apollonian logic of the Monomyth, the decadent, bug-musk drenched metaphysics of the Star-Wounded East, the no-nonsense sass of Cyrus the Restless, and now the folksy charm of Skyrim children's tales, and the bizare kafkaesque sci-fi ruminations of Hatta and his kin. I much prefer the idea that any of these can override the simplicity of the Monomyth, and are not all (necessarily) consumed into it.
