What's the best way to create a WORLD patch for AFK_Weye and

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 7:29 pm

Should I esmify both and try to do this or modify A Family Problem as the active plugin or what? I haven't done any of this sort of patching for two plugins before...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Arthmoor did a pretty good tutorial on exactly this sort of thing http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?a=topic&t=2.

I'd be interested in the patch when you finish, either for inclusion with AFK_Weye itself or to link to.

Also, my standard advice (and Arthmoor will probably say the same), note that doing patches in the Weye area, assuming you are, is REALLY complex, due to AFK_Weye, RR:LR, RTT, and combos of same. Something to bear in mind.

Also, that tutorial was written before the Construction Set Extender existed. You'll be far better off using CSE and loading both of the mods you want to patch as inactive files.

One of these days I need to write the companion piece that deals with handling persistent references, because, well, you'll likely need to move one in Weye and those don't play fair.

Ditto Dwip's caution as well. Weye is a minefield. Tread carefully, because dozens of mods touch it.

I use all of the mods you've mentioned except for RR.

Edit: Never mind, there would be too much to move.

Edit: I've made the patch now. It looks all right, but I don't know how to remove the grass, which makes the star family of A Family Problem's garden look like it needs a major weeding job.
