Ridiculous time jumps

Fallout 1 takes place 94 years after the war. Fallout 2 174 years. Fallout 3 200 years. New Vegas 204 years.

What is it with Bethesda and Black isle and these jumps of time between games? Is Obsidian the only company that knows how much can happen in a year, or a decade? One of my main gripes with Fallout is the state of the world in Fallout 1, 2, 3 and New Vegas. Shouldn't society have rebuilt to New Vegas levels a hundred years after the war? More things happened between 1900-2000 than in any Fallout game. Fallout 3 takes place 200 years after the war, even though Bethesda decided to make it look like it's permanently stuck in the week after the bombs fell. The era's these games take place in seem highly illogical. Wouldn't it be more logical if the timeline was like so?: F1: 20 years after the war, F2 30 years after the war, Fallout 3 15 years after the war, New Vegas 45 years after the war.
