"thee HART o'thee WYDD"

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 5:48 pm

The following poem was discovered scrawled on a note left in the recently vacated cave of notorious Reach Witch Feona "Barrowhart". It appears to have been written in a state of great excitement; the discarded incense and emptied bottles found in the cave suggest it was also written under a state of great intoxication. Never-the-less this item remains one of the few written first-hand documents touching upon the culture of the mysterious Madmen of the Reach currently in the College's possession. The prose appears to be in a corrupted Tamrielic, owing much to the archaic dialects now native only to the Reach, it's coherance betraying the infamous Witch in question's civilized upbringing (that no-doubt lead to her taking the unusual step amongst her kind of writing this down). I offer you this fascinating piece with one proviso: it's subject matter is not for the faint-of-heart.

- Varus Valerian, scribe, College of Winterhold

Interesting monkeytruth, the madmen of the Reach are barely touched upon in lore. I presume this is Lorkhan eating babies, whilst err... planting seeds in a witch.... Nice!

Thanks guys. This is my first attempt at retrieving articles of Tamrielic Lore from the dreamsleeve, so any feedback would be super-awesome.

In sculpture and art, Auri-El tends to be represented as a bird/eagle. I presume these are the gizzards of Auri-El, being used to toast Lorkhan, who is the heart of the wood? I still am not entirely sure what you mean by the heart of the wood. Is the heart of the wood simply just Lorkhan, or perhaps something else too...?

Since forest is Mora in old Elvish I assume it has something to do with Atmora.

So the Heart of Atmora is Lorkhan. That entirely makes sense.

Very nice. Very nice indeed. :)

All this Monkeytruth lately makes me want to finish my blatant ripoff of Puss in Boots Dunmeri children's story about an Alfiq slave...

Sometimes a wood is just a wood. Reachmen contrast with nords particularly in their lack of Atmoran ancestry.
 on the poem!

You people think there is symbolism where really there is just bad spelling

Actually there is quite a lot of imagery and Tamrielic lore in there, just viewed from the inside-out, as opposed to a Scholar's recounting. That's the idea anyway. If you guys like it I'll try and write some more put another moth in my ear and see if any-more memospores resonate at the right frequency to leave an impression on my mind strong enough to write down.
