Informal Trailer for KEENING cityquest add-on

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 3:03 am

I've been working on this project for a while, and I still have a lot to learn, but this is my first "mod" and I want it to be really immersive. I've built enough to release this video, maybe get some people interested.

Clips from traveling areas in the city:

The basic idea behind the add-on is very lore-oriented, but with some expansion of the world as it stands. I've built a city and many other locations, but I do want to keep it compact enough to actually have it completed within a reasonable amount of time... I'm going forward with the project with three things in mind: 1) Detail 2) Lore and 3) Imagination.

For fellow modders (sounds weird to say since I have only been using the TES CS for about a month), I'll probably have some questions about some of the more complex stuff, so if you are experienced with the TES Construction Set, and you like what you see, send me an email at nova@angeldroids.com if you want to help out or contribute.

Hope this catches your interest... I just have a passion for this series and I want to pay my dues and give back to the community that has done so many wonderful mods and add-ons for my favorite game.

Thanks!

It looks as if you've already got quite a few cells done. :-) Nice village design.

I thought the wickweat looked a bit out of place - it might look a bit more natural if clustered together or surrounded by other plants.

Thanks, lol! I can see the whickweheat you're talking about! It migrated itself out into the street... I will fix that!

I have all the interior cells of the city built (whew!) but, as you can see from the video, thee are some that still have to be furnished. One by one.... then I'll start adding more quests and dialogue. Everything (about 5 quests or so) that leads up to actually finding the city are pretty well completed.

Why is it called Keening?

Not to give too much away, but one of the characters claims to be the reincarnation of Kagrenac, who created the weapon called Keening - in the sense that Nerevar was reincarnated as the Nerevarine, this character claims to have the knowledge of this legendary figure.

Thanks, warmaster!

Hehe - yep, the clothier is one of the cells thats nearly complete, so you got to see the showroom with all the illusionary clothing models. I'm using clothes from "Clothiers of Vvardenfell," an excellent mod. Perhaps a lot of guys playing my add-on will probably be uninterested in this aspect, but pretty clothing in Morrowind has always fascinated me. Don't worry, there will be lots of adventure as well - I'll be building that after the city is done.
