First time modder, but don't be too nice. Please let me know what you all think.

These are just some really simple upper and lower back designs. My intention is to add more races, bodyparts, options, UV, and asymmetry later, but I wanted to release a small part now just to see how that goes.

Fixed texture path issue, thanks papill6n!
Fixed black butterfly path, thanks Hicks. Updated link below.

I'll give it a look-see, since I just happen to play a Nord Female. :D

LOL! I saw your avatar and I was like "hmm that vaguely looks like a Nord, and Elaura has been super helpful, maybe I'll take a wild guess.."

Be careful in your meshes the texture path is "c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\morrowind\data files\textures\_mels tats\nord\mel_tats_nord.dds"

You have to include only "textures\_mels tats\nord\mel_tats_nord.dds"
That's all ;)

You can use the program http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Utilities.Detail&id=73, to let it fix the textures path in your meshes ;)

Damn that's a huge oversight. >_< Thanks for pointing that out.

Fixed, should be good to go now.

Is that a particular race or a clothing mod that gives the fingernails, rings on the hands and underwear?

Any ideas on the fingers wearing rings with the talon-like fingernails?

The rings and fingers are a modder's resource called Finger Rings. You can find it on PES, you'll have to use Nifskope to assign your race's texture. They look awesome if you like long crazy fantasy nails. :D

Thankyou. :) I just tried out the mod a few minutes ago and it was throwing errors when using the black butterfly version. This was from the PES version. Once there was a separate blackbutterfly folder to put the textures into though it was alright. So instead of nord/*textures* it became nord/blackbutterfly/*textures*

Uh oh. >_< I'm sorry, I just found the problem. I know how to fix it but what do I do about re-uploading it? >< I've never used PES before..

Here's the fixed version for you, if you like: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/55820772/MelsTats1.1.7z

Doesn't solve the problem of getting it replaced on PES tho. I am a noob. :(

It may be worth putting it up on Wolflore, TES Nexus Morrowind Mod History?

I've never uploaded to PES before but I've heard that it can take a little while to get files approved.

All part of the learning process :D

It's a handy and more careful way of setting up the files that you're using, easier to keep track of. I keep wondering how it would look with Samoan style bodyart.

Just a thought, would it not be possible to just pop your bb mesh and the textures with the relevant renaming to directly replace the files in the meshes/bb and textures/bb folders, you'd be able to get away with not needing an .esp file that way? It's handy having the segmented version for keeping track of what's installed and not needing to swap out versions of the bb files. Might be something to consider to have a pluginless version for those that are a little anxious about save corruption possibilities.

Oh um.. can I be honest? I'm such a noob, I don't actually know what the BB folder is for. In fact it confuses me a lot. I've often wondered why there's a B and a BB, and why the vanilla races use b_n_blablabodypart by default but it's still a better body (BB)? In the B folder there's a file called race_skinsF/M, and in BB it's called something like f_skin_no. I have NO idea what the difference is or what the deal is with all that.

The meshes for the betterbodies are in meshes/bb and the textures for each race, male and female go in the textures/bb folder. You could either use the .esp as you are which is handy for keeping track of where things are or you could just pop them in the textures/bb folder once their renamed so the file would now be called "bb_skinf_no.dds" and would go into textures/bb. Tried it out and it works fine.

Having the body art as a separate saved layer that can be superimposed ontop of other body textures might be worth doing also, there's not a huge number of body re-textures but they are about.

The .esp route would be handy if you wanted to assign different bodies to different people (in theory) haven't tried that one out.

Being confused is good, it gives you an opportunity and encouragement to experiment. :D
