Well considering the sun is a hole in the sky, not a spherical nuclear explosion held in shape by its own gravity, I dont think complicated real life physics count. Besides, if Nirn was half the mass of Earth, it should also have half the gravity. So IN UR FACE.

We shouldn't also forget that the mental stress of mere mortals has a pretty big impact on how the universe of TES looks to us players.

What if it is a disc sitting on the back of four elephants on a turtle?

And how do you think it is possible to jump one meter high in heavy armor?

Yes, and the light flows across the world, and the gods live in the Hub.
Anyway, what does tthe turtle ride on?

I suppose the idea that Nirn is flat goes out the window, along with any mytho-giggle suggesting so.

OMG can you actually see Nirn arch a little when you look at a sea horizon? Nope, you can't. So either it's so big a ball you can't see it bend a bit, or... it's not a ball at all!

(Or, that detail is not in the game.)

I don't. I also know it's not possible to transform into a monster that is 2x your size, while all the stuff you're carrying/wearing disappears and then reappears when you shrink back down.

I do like how the flesh of giant flying firebreathing lizards disintegrates into nothingess though. At least it looks cool.

And how could I forget the hammerspace? The giant invisible floating ghost backpack.

Got two things to say.

1. I really dont think real life physics apply to this universe. For all we know nirn could have two equaters.

2. If the scholars and priests on Nirn are anything like they were in our own ancient times. Then they probably make up half the [censored]. There is no proving that the sun is a whole in dimension, ripped by a guy whose name escapes me.

You never calculated Nirn, you calculated Tamriel.

Nope. He calculated the circumference of Nirn.

This should be sufficient refutation:

Visit to Aetherius occur even less frequently than to Oblivion, for the void is a long expanse and only the stars offer portal for aetherial travel, or the judicious use of magic. The expeditions of the Reman Dynasty and the Sun Birds of Alinor are the most famous attempts in our histories, and it is a cosmic irony that both of them were eventually dissolved for the same reason: the untenable expenditures required to reach magic by magicka. Their only legacy is the Royal Imperial Mananauts of the Elder Council and the great Orrery at Firsthold, whose spheres are made up of genuine celestial mineral gathered by travelers during the Merethic Era. - http://www.imperial-library.info/content/pocket-guide-empire-third-edition-magic-aetherius
