DESCRIPTION & INFO:
This is a compilation that includes most (if not all) of the more popular interface enhancements created for Bethesda's the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It represents nearly a decade of incredible work from the MW modding community, a group of gifted individuals I feel fortunate to have shared a corner of the internet with. With the included mods applied, every aspect of Morrowind's interface gets a facelift!

Some of the changes made I realize are subjective. If you don't like the dark red leather background of this version, you may prefer the version of this mod with only the basic changes, called "ALT"

This is the third of several packs in a series called "Unification Compilation". You can follow my progress on the various packs http://www.somethingfornobody.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=95. For a complete overhaul of the game's presentation, I recommend following my http://www.somethingfornobody.com/2011/morrowind-modding-guide/, which is written with UC in mind.

You can find a complete list of credits http://pastebin.com/djDiYkMY. If you would like to read the complete Readme, it can be found http://pastebin.com/21JZTAbg.

Looks awesome, without a doubt. I can't wait for a vanilla look, as that's what I prefer. Great job though :)

Interesting compilation, really! : )
I'm just wondering if a more grey-ish interface mod exist (even if included with another mod)? I remember some persons (for example in the screenshots done by Lestat De Lioncourt on the Skyrim - Home of the Nords project or as seen in the screens done quite recently by Vality7) there using such interface... Thanks for your help. ^^

The target Oblivion texture you have include is not centered, it's known graphical error.

You can use my version of the DarkUI main menu  (see in my mod Graphics things mod)

I'll check it out! Looks a lot better from the screen.

So I have fixed the Oblivion target style texture
Your version also looks like it no longer has the transparency effects of the version I made?

Also, I am surprised mine was not centered. I made it something like two years ago, I remember painstakingly measuring to the middle of a 42" display with a ruler and tape and coming to the conclusion that it was, but I just did measurements on a few screenshots and it appears that you are right (should have just used screens and pixel measurements two years ago, lol). So I've went in and re-edited my own version to be centered while preserving the transparency.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll roll out an update today along with the alternate version and then, for anyone curious, I'll be uploading the updates to UC Armory and UC Nature.

Main version has been updated with Papill6n's better looking main menu screen for Dark UI and my own corrections to the crosshair; should be center screen, now.

Alt version has been released; includes all features of the main version, minus the Dark UI bits. I'd like to hear people's suggestions on main menu replacers to use with this version.

I'm fairly certain the UI retexture Vality is using in his map mod screenshots is "http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6419" by Torus. This mod, by the way, is compatible with the Alt version of UC Interface, so you can have both if you so desire; should end up looking like the screens at the top of this thread except, obviously, with the "Stone" backdrop for the windows.

I think there should be some ini settings with this, for font colors.

Sir Bob did distribute Dark UI with MINI and some ini tweaks, but honestly I have always preferred the original colors, though I have not done much messing with it.

I'm open to suggestions on it, though I do like that the pack is 100% drag-and-drop atm.

Oh, hey. You're right. I didn't think the window border looked right for the OB style ui, but it had been awhile since I had looked at it. I think they both use the same window border?

Nice interface. Also nice is the full map of TR you got there.
You can see it in greater detail http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/5217/tamrielrebuilt.jpg if you like.

Yes both use the same border background texture but of different color.

For the french MGSO version I have mixed the two background option available in the mod Oblivion style interface, because the two are great but a little too much or not enough, so mixing! :D

I was searching on UI design yesterday. I read that contrast is a key point in UI design. I think the color tweaks are part of the design, for a good reason.

I understand your desire for drag and drop. I use your mod guide and I did it in bain style. The repackaging was bad but installation is actually easier than drag and drop. Latest bash installs prerequisites automatically so I think maybe going Wrye route can become more convenient. It can tweak ini settings in one click too. Maybe something like ini load order and a possible MCP feature to merge them? I don't know really.

PS. I also want to say that, personally, I hate it. I mean, the red background makes my eyes bleed. I ask people and some said the same that they found it irritating and some actually said it is easy on their eyes.

I am probably in some other part of the population who finds red irritating.

I think the colors should be like this(I did a quick mock-up. I only changed the background files and probably changed unnecessary ones too, also the text should be still in default colors in here which should be a bit more brighter when tweaked):

PPS. Do you see foggy parts in that screenshot? It looks different than that in fullscreen for me. I think my color settings are messed up badly.

That could be part of why the red of the leather kills your eyes so much (your colors being out of whack, I mean). It's not just the 'foggy' parts, that whole screen looks pretty whacky. The 'fog' is almost certainly SSAO drawing as white for whatever reason, and then everything is black or... something. I really couldn't say what is causing all of it, but just confirming that it does look crazy.

I'm interested in possibly creating different color varients to satisfy more people, but the best I can do for now is provide that stripped down 'alt' version.

Thanks for the advice about Mash. Something I have been meaning to look into.

It's not as comprehensive but I've always liked ayse's http://morromods.wiwiland.net/IMG/jpg/morro_SkinPackDarkWood.jpg one. Sadly his site seems to have gone, good old http://mw.modhistory.com/download-56-2120.

Re-upped to GHF while Peachykeen sorts things out with his host. :3

You can get it here, though it's probably members only until it gets approved or however GHF works: http://download.fliggerty.com/download-56-614

Yeah, after some tweaking the red color looks better indeed.

For the white fog, it is the alpha channel. MGE screenshots have alpha channel filled with alpha and SSAO information. It looks correct in game but the screenshots look weird. I had to remove alpha channels manually. I will check this with latest MGE XE and see what's really going on.

The blackness is intended, for the most part. I prefer darker nights.

I have some problems with colors. There are two problems.
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

I can get black test to appear correctly most of the time.

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php

But white test is awful. I can't see last 3 no matter what and I can only see middle row after some extensive tweaking which costs me some of the first black levels.

But apparently, the real problem is the gray gradients:
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gradient.php

Going from left to right, around rgb(25,25,25), it goes darker. It isn't linear, this makes deep blacks appear as dull gray in some conditions. I eliminated that after some extensive-extensive tweaking too. But white contrast is really low and some black levels are very dark as a result now. I don't know if it is the monitor or the graphics card, I had to change both recently. It would be interesting to figure this out, I never had problems like this in none of my monitors. The Nvidia really devoted fan in me so wants to blame ATI for this though. Yeah, I switched. After all these years, seeing "Display driver stopped working" again shows ATI hasn't changed a bit.
