Alessian Order Dragon Break

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:48 pm

Hello Everyone!

I have some questions on the Dragon Break of the First Era, 13th Century.
Can someone please explain exactly what happened. I'm fairly new to this Dragon Break stuff, but from my understanding, it's a kind of Time-Travel thingo, right? (The nords did send Alduin through time like this, didn't they?)
The UESP says that a millenia went missing, does this mean that everything on Nirn was thrown foward 1000 years? If so, how did the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Battle_of_Duncreigh_Bridge occur?

If I am completely wrong in my understanding of a Dragon Break, please tell me as it seems like an interesting concept.

If someone could clear all of this up for me that'd be great :D

Cheers.

A dragon break is when, as per the name, time breaks, the dragon being Akatosh - see? Refer to the following link for a more detailed explanation. (on my phone here, can't link properly)

TIme travel is one such effect of a Dragon Break. The most well known is the Warp in the West, in which multiple "branched" possibilities of events occur at the same time and manage to converge again at the "end" of the Break. It was used to canonise all of Daggerfall's endings.

It could still have happened. Just like everything else seemed to have happened (even apparently mutually exclusive events taking place).
From what I understand, it interrupted the flow of time in different places. So time may have been progressing at different rates across the Empire, going forward, apparently backward, and sideways.

It would be like everyone getting into their own spaceship and traveling across the universe at different speeds, sometimes accelerating, sometimes decelerating. With the whole wacky deal of space/time dilation, even if everyone rendezvoused at some point in the future, different dimensions of time will have elapsed for everyone. Some may have travelled billions of miles in a month, while other had gone a few blocks in a decade. But somehow you all end up back to where it all began and you all disagree on how long you've been gone.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Just like that. But then in overdrive.

Scholar-priests of the Alessian Order tamper with the Dragon God of Time.
A fanatical sect of the Alessian Order, the Maruhkati Selective, becomes frustrated by ancient Aldmeri traditions still present within the theological system of the Eight Divines. Specifically, they hated any admission that Akatosh, the Supreme Spirit, was indisputably also Auriel, the Elven High God.

Newly invented rituals were utilized to disprove this theory, to no avail. Finally, the secret masters of the Maruhkati Selective channeled the Aurbis itself to mythically remove those aspects of the Dragon God they disapproved of. A staff or tower appeared before them. The secret masters danced on it until it writhed and trembled and spoke its protonymic.

What i want to know is does this have anything to do with Alduin now seemingly being separate from Akatosh? what effect did that ritual have on Akatosh and his aspects?

Cyrodilic Akatosh inherits the keys to Daddy Bormahu's vintage Mundus, making his elder-brother Alduin very depressed. And when Aldy gets depressed, he eats.

Does he feel fat afterwards?

Which makes him even more depressed, causing even more eating. It's a viscious [kalpic] cycle.
