Problem with morrowind code patch v2.0

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 5:54 am

I decided to update my morrowind code patch from v1.6 to v2.0 today. While "Redating BSAs..." line i got new window to pop up with:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "", line 162, in onPatch
File "", line 332, in onPatch
File "", line 431, in patchBSAs
WindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied: 'Data Files/Morrowind.bsa'

any chance to solve this without reinstaling everything?

P.S.
I have few graphic mods that i believe changed bsa, that may or may not be the problem
It's vanila version of morrowind with expantions on separate cd's, not steam or goty version.

I'd say: right click on 'Data Files/Morrowind.bsa' and remove the "readonly" attribute. As MCP is trying to patch your *.bsa-files (erm...what for?), it obviously needs write acces to them.

That was the first thing I tried. It's not read-only. (or at least box is not checked)

are you running the patch as an administrator?

Is morrwind installed under program files?

Depending on your OS that can be a problem at times
