Raven Rock Door

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2009 8:14 am

I just started playing around with the NV Geck and I decided I wanted to make a personal house mod. I'd like to use the Raven Rock entrance, however I can't find that heavy outer door in the Geck.

So my question is, is the door even present in the NV Geck and if so what name is it under?

I'm pretty new at this too but my advice would be to open Raven Rock in the Render Window and double click on the door you want to use, you should be able to find the info you need that way.

I'm confused... Raven Rock is a place in Fallout 3, not New Vegas. So are you trying to mod Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas?

He's asking if the door is in NV, and if so what it's still called. Lots of assets are shared between the two games. Checking Raven Rock in FO3's GECK should work though, since asset names don't seem to have changed even when they're extremely specific (like the Megaton assets with that in their name)

The actual entrance structure (or whatever you want to call all the concrete around the door) is in the editor. I just can't find the outer door itself.

I've tried searching through the objects with the keywords Raven and Enclave and haven't found it. Not sure if there is an abbreviation they are using that I'm not familiar with or something.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone.

Ok, sorry for double posting and reopening this thread but I'm still having an issue.

I searched for the object in all categories using the name given and only found the script for the door not the door itself. Are you certain the door is in fact in the New Vegas geck? If it turns out it isn't is there a way to import it from F3?

Edit: just looked at the one use of the entrance structure in the game and it turns out they actually used it in an interior without the door so it may very well not be in the game.

Hrm bummer, checking at the file level the main exterior door for the Enclave is not there - nor is the entrance concrete/door frame that fits it.

Unfortunately you can't port the Fallout3 version in, as it's not an asset contained in New Vegas an thus Only usable in Fallout3 mods. Your best-bet is to use another door solution, like the largest of the Enclave doors that did transfer:

RavenRockEcvDoorBg01
RavenRockExteriorDoor
NVEcvDoorBg01
EcvDoorBg01

I saw the script too - looks like it was mistakenly left in from Fallout3 or they used it in another door type.

The frame is, its named RavenRockExtEntrance01 or something similar. But I guess the door isn't which stinks. I'll find an alternative, thanks for the help all the same.

if this is a personal mod (i.e: you are not going to publicly release it) just import the door from fallout 3 (if you have it).... since its for your own personal use there is no legal issues as your not making copyrighted material public !

I did that for my own personal amusemant. I'm currently attempting to make a mod (that would require both games, obviously) that would allow you to access an NPC at a "suborbital ballistic airliner terminal" and pay an exorbitant amount of prewar currency to fly between the two. If I could pull it off it will be truly epic, but honestly, I don't hold out a great deal of hope.
