[WIP] UC Architecture

So, I've been doing work on getting UC Architecture out, but one of the main reasons I have been putting it off for so long is that I am not satisfied with some of the textures. That's why I've made this thread; I'd like everyone's opinions on what their favourite architecture retextures are.

Specifically, I would like some good alternatives to some of Connary's textures. I have not been satisfied with any other packs I've found for velothi sewers (like the ones under vivec), redoran architecture, or strongholds. Really, I haven't found many retextures for these things at all.

Here's a list of the mods so far that I plan to release with UC architecture and which of them I have permission to use. I'm open to suggestions for using different ones if you think you know one that is better, but the main suggestions I am looking for are to do with alternatives for Connary's textures listed above.

The only other velothi sewers retextures I know of besides connary's are http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5816 and Ext Sewers by Masoxx - the latter of which has been removed from PES along with all of his other work for some reason, although I have it downloaded from when it was still available though.

There's a retexture for the dunmer strongholds included in Skydye's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8380 that's pretty good.

I think it's this new whizzy rich text post editor thingy. All very nice but it does mess up when copy and pasting some things.

Links are working now. I have no idea why they weren't working when all the others were though... odd.

Edit: What I did to fix it was go back and copy the address's again, but this time re-paste them via the button hyperlink pop-up. Thanks for the heads up though Dragon32. I'll keep that in mind for the next time I paste some PES links and the forum screws them up again. Where did the "amp" even come from? I don't recall seeing it there when I was copying the links.

From what I can work out text is pasted by default as HTML rather than plaintext, or interpreted into BBcode or something, I dunno. Ampersands can be screwy in HTML so generally "&" is used when writing HTML

So the forum software converts the "&" into a "&", way round it is to temporarily toggle editing mode when you paste links although you may have to manually add the tags

Meh, the only ones I like besides Connary's are Apel's, but they're still WIP. When he finishes those could you incorporate them into the pack (providing he gives permission)?

I personally love the unique architecture mods.
Adds a whole lot of diversity to the game.
Maybe you could include some of them, too.
Like White Suran. That would be sweeet!

Before I finally found Connary's stronghold textures, I was using http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6691, which are quite nice. I also liked using http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=27167.

I have been meaning to check out Swiveller's Strongholds, I may do that soon.

I just tried Korana's Redoran and they are totally unusable. Korana made the mistake most artists make when retexturing Redoran stuff; their houses are NOT made out of crab husks, they are made out of a ground up bone chitin similar to bonemold armor (which, again, is not made out of whole bones). In fact, one of the reasons I like Connary's redoran so much is that it looks consistent with Bonemold armor. This deep rooted misunderstanding of Redoran housing probably comes from the fact that Redoran DO make homes in the giant emperor crab on the Ald-Ruhn plateu.

I have seen Redoran retextured to look like clay and like bones, but only Connary's and Visual Pack's seems to be very close to the original texture.

I don't mean to insult anyone, btw. It's not the quality of the textures that is the problem with most Redoran textures, it's the 'premise' so to speak.

I love Aztek Hlaalu and Egyptian Velothi, athough Im not sure how lore friendly they are. ;)
