Screw enemy AI

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2009 12:20 am

I was an operative disguised as the enemy.
I knocked an unawares enemy down.
I started shooting at said enemy while they were down.
Guess who died first.

Smug and slightly doosh-baggy, whilst being correct. It shouldn't be used by [censored] to justify the massively buffed AI bots, though.

The bot AI is undeniably broken and imbalanced - No amount of practice, or 'get better' type smug-posts can disguise, justify or excuse it.

Knocking enemy bots down is a death sentence. Let them stay up and just shoot them. If you knock them down, they instantly open up on full auto - and they don't miss. I instinctively try to knock the enemy down when I'm fleeing, but against bots it just makes things that much harder for no good reason. They WILL get you. One of only a few glaring issues in my opinion, as far as enemy bots go. I like shooting enemy bots usually, they tend to put up a better fight than players. Just a few things need to be ironed out, like that.

I faced off at mid-range with a Gerund against an enemy bot with a Carb-9, whilst playing Hard as a Rank 5. Guess who died first. Little mr. aim-botting full-auto pinpoint-accuracy spraying headshot machine, of course. The AI can be more skilled than a real person, to the point of it being impossible.
