Using the IP changer or anonymizer could sove this problem. I used "hidemyass.com" and it worked fine. I hope this will help the others.

Cloud version is a new version. It needs a special beta dll which you can find in MGE thread's first post(Scroll down a little, the package contains the shader too). It can create a mask based on cloud texture's alpha channel. So sun disc doesn't appear over the clouds but behind the clouds now and rays too shine through them. You can even notice where the sun is behind the clouds. :o

Was this removed intentionally?
I last posted a link to this in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1080781-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/, unfortunately the file no longer exists at speedyshare. Not sure if phal had it removed from there or if it was auto deleted because of lack of downloads after a set period of time (which is common for share sites like speedyshare), but in any case it required the specific version of MGE revision 118b3 which in turn was just an update to rev-0118.

Development of MGE revisions moved well beyond the 118b3 build - because of that and incompatibility with more recent builds I dropped the link from current MGE threads (you can always back-link thru the threads at the bottom of each OP and eventually find the dev/test builds - at least until the forums cull the thread :glare: ).

At this point you'll need to contact phal directly about it, or wait patiently until he returns with a version that will be compatible with the most recent MGE revision.

Hi guys. I've been having the same problems as lorca. He posted a screenshot on page 6 of this topic which is an exact representation of what I'm experiencing. There are no sun shafts, just a few distorted artifacts at the top of my screen whenever I look directly up at the sun. I have the following settings for shaders checked:

Hardware shader
Update shader variables
Supply shaders with depth info
Supply HDR info to shaders (2.00 HDR reaction time (secs))

I'm using MGE 3.8.1 SVN build rev.126. I actually tried using this shader with rev 118 but It gave me the same problems. Any thoughts? Have you found a solution to the problem lorca?

That's actually a pretty interesting effect on the ash storm. Makes it look like the ash in the air is like a light fog. The bright sun gets through, but nothing else.
The sun often does that in real life to

Those of you having trouble, I recommend mge3.8-SVN_rev-0119. I've been using this since I discovered mge and have yet to find a more stable version IMO, at least on my machine. Sun rays works for me on it.

Awesome. I'll try this out right now! <3
I,m using mge 126 fixed. Do I still need the modified ini with this build & if I do where can I find it ? I'm asking because it does seem to be sort of working, but with rather crude sun shafts. I used the replacment texture for the sun and my current shader list is DX9 HLSL HDR 2, knx SSAO v9, with exteriors switched off, sunshaft ver002a, improved water caustics 06b ,,dx9 HLSL Fast full Bloom. I like really dark nights & have used the ini settings from Morrowind Nights which just about turn off all the lights in Morrowind after dark so i'm not sure what kind of effect this will have either.
I'm having a lot of fun playing with this stuff it's taking me as long to get morrowind set up now as Oblivion did & thats just making the world pretty, thanks in advance for any help Beebee

EDIT: Sorry for Necroposting. Forgot to look at the date.

Shaders released for regular MGE don't work with MGE XE. Fortunately, XE already includes a Sunshaft shader.

However, this IS still worth downloading for the transparent sunglare texture included, as it works well with XE's shader.
