Settings at ultra doesn't look like ultra..

So, I recently reinstalled Oblivion with all the patches and so forth. Once I ran the game, it worked flawlessly except for the fact that it looks absolutely horrible. The game recognizes me to have medium settings, but I am able to max this game at 60 FPS, heck I run Skyrim at 40-50 on High settings. Does anyone know what to do to fix this issue? The view distance is horrid, and mods doesn't fix it. I have also tried to change the ugrid, but that only increases my loading times while the fog in the distance persists.

AMD A8-3870K 3.1 GHz (onboard graphics).

Gigabyte GA-A75M-UD2H.

2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz.

You need to manually do all the settings since Oblivion doesn't recognize newer hardware. To make it look better, there's OBGE and a bunch of texture replacers among other visual enhancements.

To manually set graphics: Delete the Oblivion.ini in your documents\games, to force the game to generate a new one. Launch the game, select the Highest settings, and then set your correct resolution. You should then be using the proper shaders and settings.

Thanks for reading,

You have an AMD APU (Radeon 6550D IGP) and you get 40-50 fps in Skyrim on High... somehow I doubt that. Of course your resolution could be set fairly low like 1024x768 then maybe you would get decent performance.
