_Face The People_
Vanilla friendly
Ok this project started out of the fact that it annoyed me seeing faces more than once on different npc's.
I think we all know the example of seeing http://oi46.tinypic.com/25qwriw.jpg pretty dunmer face way to often. Looks familiar doesnt it?
Well, thats exactly what I dont want!
It doesnt matter what haircut you add to that face, you will always recognize it as being that one young pretty dark elf female.
Thats why it should only be given to one npc, in my opinion.
As Morrowind being a unique world I just want the characters in it also to be unique!
Yes, maybe I have to high standards but Im sure others have felt the same.
Yes, maybe its impossible to give every npc a different face, but hey there is only one way to find out > Try to achieve it!
And thats exactly what brought me to starting this project.
Phase 1
Creating a face and hair http://oi45.tinypic.com/4tqcue.jpg, which gives a visual overview of the content.
This gives me two important advantages:
- I can "easily" find the face or hair I want to edit. (Creating different hair colours etc.)
- The numbers of the face / hairs in the database will correspond to the id they get in the Construction Set
So I can use the database to see what face I want and then all I have to do is pick the right number in the CS.
This saves a lot of chaotic trying to search for the right face in the CS.
Phase 2
Importing all the faces and hairs collected in Phase 1 into the the CS.
This is the boring part but will eventually lead to the exciting Phase 3.
Phase 3
Tracking all those NPC's in the CS and pick a nice unique face for them which will make them proud!

So that is how I planned it.
Three weeks ago I started with Phase 1, slowly filling my database.
Making all these previews for hairs & faces. Windows XP folder style is great!
Searching through all these different face/hair packs out there. (Westly's, Better Heads, Corean Hair etc.)
Picking the content I want, keeping in mind that I want to stay true to vanilla MW.
Slowly the database grows, but at the moment im still not ready to get to Phase 2.
I ask you, the community, for suggestions & questions:
Things I might have forgotten in my plans.
To answer some of the questions that certainly will come:
< The difference in face quality >
Well, as you know there arent to much ultra hd textured faces out there. (We have http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/41784-3-1331089335.jpg & http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/40448-1-1316762052.jpg work)
So its impossible to build a full replacer on high res textures only.
Besides that, it also would be stupid as there are a lot of great unique faces with a lower res, but that breath a lot of http://oi46.tinypic.com/vncxlc.jpg!
So my idea was to use those high res faces sparely. Maybe for some of the important npc's.
I dont want to create a huge gap in quality difference.
Thats means I dont want to walk into a tavern and see two npc's, one with high res, one with low res, standing next to eachother!
Also the http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/41622-1-1328585783.jpg will be used very sparely some even not at all.
Than there is another point:
I would like to make my replacer fitting to the info LGNPC adds to the character.
Some sort of overview of all the info LGNPC adds would be helpfull.
I will see if I can contact them.

Ok, I think this makes clear what Im trying to attempt with this project.
I have my vision of how I want the people of MW to look and thats what drives this mod.
But I will take account of the community suggestions.
So please, tell me what your thinking
