i followed the instructions that the sticky said and it wont perform. any idea?

Well i Installed it as it Told me to then i Configured the sound with 16/AWE32, port 220, IRQ 7 and DMA 1 as told then downloaded the patch and just did the thing to run it

Are you using DOSBox? It's not going to work on XP or Vista without it.

yea i am i figured out the problem myself. however when i go into full screen mode its laggy outside. anyone know how to fix this?

Lately I have the same problem and I always have to switch to window mode to prevent laggs. That sux!

Try changing the sound card, or IRQ (it's usually either 5 or 7). For they chopping I reckon something is wrong with the dosbox.conf settings.
The "memsize=" has to be at least 32. I have it at 63, and try setting the "core=" at auto, and "Cycles=" at max. Those are the settings I use and I have generally no performance issues.

Alright i forgot i made this topic and was able to find everything out like 2 minutes after this my last post and finished the main quest but now it just started to become all lag when i go into full screen mode when not in a dungeon or a house but it runs perfectly in small screen mode in all areas. anyone know how i can fix the lag? would Appreciate it!
