Which facial improvement mods do you guys recommend? Ditto for the hair mods...It looks simply AWFUL

I use Improved Facial textures, plus Unique Features. Cobl for the hair.

Are they compatible with body mods such as HGEC?

Yes. Use the supplied facial textures that come with the body mods. IFT retextures the age textures, but does include regular facial textures. The body mods (and high rez replacers) have their own facial textures to match their body textures. Helps to reduce that neck seam.
