What are the most common causes of CTD during door transitio

Seems the longer I play the more CTDs I get when going through doors. I get these in Ruins, Forts, Citties, DLC Battlehorn Castle, Caves. I am 105 hours into my game and do repair abomb and remove bloat.

Nothing really new in my load order from previous stable games. So I am looking for the most common causes of this issue. I can resign myself to just deal with it but maybe some insight from people who had these and fixed them may give me some ideas to try.

Some of the things I am considering to change - all long shots:
Downgrade UOPs
Disable OSR
Remove Actors have torches

Outside of that, my PC OS is clean, I use game booster, have no virus/spam programs running (I do my Internet in a virtual machine only). Tried with and without gamecompanion. RAM usage by oblivion.exe is fine. I have Win7 Pro 64 bit, 16GB RAM, AMD 3.6 CPU, 2GB ATI 6950, so harware specs are good and I am not OVERLOADED with textures.

One suggestion, type in "pcb" in your console before you go through that door. See if it helps to purge your buffers.

The other suggestion is to revert to a save game where you did not notice such crashes. For some reason, that has been my best bet to have a crash free game. Some sort of game corruption occurs if you keep on saving on a game that should have crashed etc., but did not.

This right here is exactly the kind of thing that crash preventers can cause.

Door transitions were a huge problem with ScreenEffects when that was still popular. With the rise of OBGE that hasn't been an issue for some time.

I don't see anything like Streamline in your load order, you may want to look into that. Cell buffers not getting purged regularly can lead to random CTDs. The size of your save game might also be relevant depending on how much you've done in that 105 hours.

I use Kuertee auto save and time and it's PCB function.

No screen effects.

I have done ALOT in the 105 hours. Did the main quest, all but one OOO quest, many vanilla quests. I finally made it to level 19.

SO the question can be, how do I get a clean save? I will remove weocps.

I first thought it was Kuertee auto save and time causing the problem as many times there was an autosave before I did the door transition. I turned it off for a bit but still had the issue so eliminated that as the problem.

Did a manual PCB work after deactivating Auto-save and time? All my mods are prevented from running during load-door transitions. (I skip all code while IsPlayerMovingIntoNewSpace is true.) But stuff can happen immediately after. Were the save operations happenng immediately after the load-door transition? I may have to add a count-down before a save after those.

I've found that OBSE conflicts can cause this. Make sure that all mods that have OBSE plugins are properly installed (like the UOP's OBSE jail fix), and that none of them conflict with each other.

The cause of these crashes is likely to be very elusive. I'm no closer to finding an answer for it, but while I've found that OBSE time functions can be problematic, pointing fingers at kuertee's mod at this point might be going in the wrong direction. It can happen whether or not you're using that type of mod.

For me, these kinds of crashes seem completely random with regard to caves/forts/ruins; there's a much higher chance when entering a city ... so much so that I automatically do a new hard save before clicking that door--especially if I've been ingame for a while, I can almost guarantee that attempting to enter Anvil or Bravil will CTD the game. I don't use city overhauls or much in the way of UL mods, only a few essential OBSE mods and the bare minimum of RAE--and even with QTP3Redim, texture overhead remains between 600-800 at all times, which should not be a problem with a 2gb video card. I still run WindowsXP, OSR is remarkably stable, and game memory seems not to be the issue, even without an enabler. I had considered that possibly the loading screen function might be hanging up (and still am), but I have no hard evidence that that's the case. It may be just that the engine is attempting to load too much too fast, and purge at the same time--and either it or the hard disk cannot keep up.
