Ok, I'm playing through Arena and have been able to handle all the riddles so far without cheating (looking them up). But the riddle in the Halls of Colossus is driving me nuts. It's asking for a name, not an "object" like the answers to the other riddles. Where in this place am I supposed to come up with the name "Theodorus"? Is it written on a tomb or a wall somewhere, or what?

Any help would be appreciated! I know I could just look up all the answers, but I want to know the "how" and the "why" behind it.

Yes, it's written...on the floor in the SE corner of the dungeon. You have to swim all the way S, then all the way E, then you get to a room with a statue in it. Maybe it's written on the statue and not the floor, it's been a while. See http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Arena:The_Halls_of_Colossus link.

Then there is the issue with the final riddle of this place, which I think is ridiculous. Once you understand that the number "26" you are given in the final riddle correlates to the 26 letters of the alphabet, it's an easy equation to solve. But how did they (the designers) ever expect you as a player to make that leap, to correlate the letters of the alphabet with numbers, then multiplying it all out...........that's kind of a stretch if you ask me.

Boy howdy. However, there are enough clues in the algebra to keep you from having to try all numbers consecutively, and that's how I got it.
