Story mods to go with MMM + Frans + Claudia's Secret 123?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 1:00 pm

Thank you for clicking my topic. I have installed Oblivion + DLC, Unoffical Patch and Supplements, MMM + Frans + Claudia's Little Secret 1,2, and 3. There was a crashing problem with All Natural, but it was resolved when I uninstalled it and used only Real Lights. This install seems very stable.

I was wondering if I could ask you, from your experience from modding Oblivion, what major quest mods off of the top of your head would add the most lore-friendly content to this setup? Or perhaps it would be better to uninstall Claudia's Little Secret so that I can be sure to get at more quest mods? I've reached the part where she wants 10k Septims, and it's going to take a lot of time to earn it.

I was thinking of trying Integration again, it had crashing problems in a previous install with OOO. This was before Skyrim, a year earlier iirc. If there is / are quest mods that would add even more content than Integration then I would probably prefer that to Integration.

I will recommend dropping CLS, certain parts of CLS do not play well with other mods.
I used Integration with UFCOM before I became addicted to Skyrim, I did not have any noticable conflicts between the mods involved as long as I used the correct plugins, and paid attention to what I had checked when I rebuilt my Bashed Patch.

ramble, I may have mis-read maybe. Disregard if I did

Integration couldn't have been a direct cause of those crashes. For one, I use OOO and have been playing/testing Integration since it started, for another the author himself uses FCOM, and had to do a fair bit of testing himself. Also never heard many crashing reports outside of the rare ones which are known, and were quickly fixed, or workarounds were figured out.
Most likely it was just bad luck, your load order may have been on the verge of instability and Integration just happened to be the final straw, only thing I can think of.

More content as in what exactly? No other mod, quest or otherwise really has Integration's type of content in the amount that Integration does. (Choices& consequences, skill checks, dialogue, guilds, lore, immersion replayability, play time, etc. The last three venture a bit into the realm of opinion, but the earlier parts support them)...

Content could mean a wide range of things: disk space, number of locations, size of locations, quest numbers, new items, added, etc.) For instance, Kragenier's Death Quest may technically have more quests, but most of them are simple fetch, kill, escort, wander, deliver type things. Which for me cause boredom and frustration more than anything else. Should be able to help more if I know what you are looking for.

MMM+ Frans shouldn't cause too many issues with quests... I haven't played CLS since like early in part 2. You try Dark Brotherhood Chronicles, and Reclaiming Sancre Tor? Those seem to be the big recent releases. Haven't play Oblivion in a long time, may get back to it and try out some of the newer quest mods... especially given my dislike of Skyrim at the moment( I may be harsh on Oblivion, but at least it was enjoyable enough in it's vanilla state..)

Thank you both for considering my post, and for phoenix1213 to go in depth.

The word I used, 'content' was a bad choice. Every mod has its own story to carry the action. By content I mean that the story is lore-friendly. I was not aware that Integration was at the top of the list, so I apologize.

My mod setup last year started with OOO as the base along with Kuertee's Attribute-Based and Skill-Based Damage Modifiers. From there it expanded with Integration - The Stranded Light which required LAME and RPB. A few random crashes appeared here and there after adding a clusterpack of weather mods. Instead of investigating from that point, mod fever took over and it all accelerated into a crash mosh pit.

But now with a selection of top lists to choose from things should go smoothly. My Ambien is kicking in and the page is moving, so iit's time for bed. Thanks again.
