Back to Oblivion! Pls get me up & running

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 2:14 pm

Hi people

I've been away for like 3 years and today I decided to give Oblivion a shot again.

I want to have a similiar game experience as I had back then so I want to start with the mods I had installed earlier. Can you please point me to newer/better alternatives if they exist or give me an "ok" if theres no better/newer one?

I will be using OOO with Enhanced Economy as a base installation.

Mods:

Alternative Start
Beautiful People
Athmospheric Weather System
Bobs Armory
Darnified UI
Martigens Monster Mod
QTP3
Ragdolls

Thanks!

MMM and OOO are do for updates but it should not stop you from installing and playing the current versions. List looks good but a couple suggestions:

All natural for weather (includes atmospheric weather system weathers).
Don't forget the unofficial patches

Depending on what you are looking for in game consider Unique landscapes.

I also found Lush and gaudy textures to be VERY nice on top of QTP3. Very different look. Might be worth a try.

Here's a thread to get you started: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1213147-oblivion-the-beautiful/page__hl__oblivion%20the%20beautiful
Note: These are hi res texture replacers mostly so unless you have high powered graphic cards such as GTX 580 or Radeon 6800 series, you might want to restrain yourself from installing them all otherwise you would notice lower performance. :yuck:   :nope:

OOO + MMM is a nice combination and easy to install. Beautiful People may be prone to cause you issues. Vanilla races Deluxe is an alternative. Or the good old TNR.

If you were to also install COBL and/or Race Balancing Project, they have options that have TNR already integrated.

I would agree that Beautiful People isn't worth the hassle unless you plan on using a mod that depends on it (such as the Xeo series) or really want one of the races that is included.
