LagHard Resets

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 1:04 pm

I've been playing lonesome road, for maybe 30 minutes? I'm on the quest where I need to get the laser detonator, and my game is constantly locking up, freezing, crashing, just blah.

I mean, whenever I die I reload my save and its stuck in this infinite loop of lag on the load screen. Thus making me hard restart my console.

Is it something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to clear my cache? This is just ridiculous.

EDIT: I understand this is the wrong place to post this. But I'm fed up with it and I need some advice.

turn off your system, and let it cool down.

The thing is I just turned on my xbox. It was only on for maybe 5-10 minutes before I started playing.

Like I said, played for 30 minutes and started having these problems. Am I going to have to stop and take 10-20 minutes for my system to cool? >_>

Keep your personal save at a all time low I would say around 1-20 P Saves if you dont save at all and just live off qwk save you will have a much more smoother game!

I've seen the Devs recommend starting a brand new game/save file when issues like this creep up, or you can try your luck by going a few saves back.

I've only had one freeze in about 3-4 hours of gameplay. I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it....just restart and save often.

The lagging/freezing is most of the time an issue with the amount of saves you have, or the save you're actually using.

[Save Files 101]
1. Don't save over other saves, always create a brand new file when you do want to save. (Believe stacking saves can cause corruption)
2. Keep your total amount of New Vegas saves low, like <20
3. For the love of god don't hard-save over auto-saves, it rips a hole in the space time continuum.
4. If none of these suggestions fix it, you could try just completely re-installing the game/DLC. :brokencomputer:
5. Just manually delete your saves when you don't need them anymore.

Thanks, appreciate it.
As a former save-file fiend myself, I can honestly say it's difficult to remember to delete after a while. xD
