Sounds of Cyrodiil

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 6:08 pm

Just started using this and it is ace. Seriously.

One thing though - and this is only in my experience so don't taze me bro!! :D

It looks like if you have Darker Dungeons, you need to have that load AFTER sounds of Cyrodiil. I noticed that if it is the other way - (in my load list at least) - the dungeons aren't dark. Again, it's only my experience, I'm just putting it out there!

It is an excellent mod though - (actually both of them are). :)

Sounds of Cyrodiil does not touch the brightness of dungeons in anyway. As the name implies, it only adds sounds to the game. Anyways, just use BOSS and you should be fine.  May I recommend Better Music System to go with it? It requires additional OBSE plugins but it's worth it. If you decide to try it out grab the Oblivion Music as well.

@PhonAntiPhon: You could have used the mod's official thread to make this point, watsay? ;)

No, not yet because I was literally just going out the door. As has been pointed out there is no reason why there should be any clash at all but that's my experience. I posted it in a new thread because I had not the time to look for the official one.
I love the mod though, it's awesome, it just works - for me - that way round.

[edit] - I can't find the official thread. I would be More Than Happy to mention if someone can point me in the right direction.

Cheers,
Mat

Doesn't sound like you're using BOSS or Wrye Bash. BOSS places Darker Dungeons near the end of the load order, which would be after SoC. Darker Dungeons edits cell records, which means it would conflict with any mod that touches the affected cells. That's what Wrye Bash is for, it'd merge the necessary edits into the bash patch without causing conflicts with other mods.

Hmm, well I have moved all the darker dungeons stuff to after SoC.
I have a problem using Wrye Bash in that I cannot get it to work correctly - (I guess I will need to post up the error message at come point), and the last time I used BOSS it put things in the wrong place, however I will give it a go again and see what comes out.

While BOSS isn't perfect, and there will always be a bit of manual tweaking necessary, did it occur to you to bring this up in the BOSS thread?

Actually.
Yes.
I did mention it in the thread and provided the relevant information the last time I used it.

I mentioned it in this thread because the previous poster had mentioned using BOSS. This thread was an answer, the other entry in the BOSS thread was a report.

Cheers,
Mat

Try Cava Obscura for darker dungeons.
