heres the sad thing, i believe maybe 80 to 90% of the posters on here play FONV on the PC. im gonna be truthful with yal and yal can flame away, but FONV WITH mods is wow freaking awesome, FONV without mods was a huge letdown. Obsidian hands down is freaking great with structured story lines where as Bethesda pretty much had ya fill in the pieces with what u wanted which is great for sandbox. Reason why i said it was a big letdown was for quite a few reasons, reasons i might add i no longer have BECAUSE of mods. Graphics were better on the previous FO, there was alot more landscape detail in previous FO, no random encounters , FO3 felt more alive in so many ways such as sitting down in a town or area and just listen to all the scrips npcs would converse with one another which was lacking in this game. Enemies not scaling with npc lvl. theres abit more just cant think bc of what time it is at night. I will say this though FONV was defintely taking steps in the right direction and improved on quite a bit, it just seems the areas they took a step forward in, the areas they didnt really touch they were taking quite a few steps back. I love FONV with mods, but unfortauntly its only got so many replay values because a majority of the game is set in stone, where as alot of people including myself is still enjoying the hell outta FO3. Not bc FO3 has a better story...psst u crazy, got better weapons...nope they beat us in that, to me its because of 2 reasons. 1 random encounters, replaying a game and having either new stuff happen to you or have it happening at a new area and having a ton...a TON of areas to explore that are fleshed out with little storylines hidden in them of days long past or just connecting to an area. Long story short, i believe its the dlcs and the mods that really have made this game last this long with quite a few of us even if we wont admit it. FONV is a great game, but i would have to put it right with FO3, maybe a step below, because even though it did do great improvement in certains areas, the lack of random encounters and "dugeon" crawling . FONV with mods, freakign fantastic with mod creaters picking up the slack, FONV without mods feels more liek a step behind FO3.
