Best Voice ActorMost Disappointing

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 5:46 am

I liked the voices, of House (sounds charming and intelligent, it suits him), Boone (damn near emotionless, but with reason), Raul (Danny Trejo, Graham (dark and commanding), Ulysses (gritty and resentful of you), Elijah (conveys obsession very well) and most of the Think Tank.

The rest either felt lifeless, phoned in or were reused voice actors (I usually skip those ones, heard it once, don't need to hear it twice). I honestly skip the generic voices for the most part after hearing the lines in one playthrough.

The King was great too, but if anything, I think whoever designed the Kings' appearance deserves the award. It's not often you see an NPC and it makes you react like that. I saw the King for the first time and just thought "OMG!!" Was so dead-on. :D

Whoever voiced House, Ulysses, Joshua Graham, have my hats tipped to them... Though I admit Cass's VA did a great job.

Yeah, and listening to her, I got a good idea what her father would have sounded like.

Richard Herd as Elijah - the way he alternates between ruthless, uncompromising and absolutely chilling when he issues his commands, greedy and downright infatuated when he speaks of the Sierra Madre and the moments when you can hear echoes of a different person, an old man who's beginning to feel his age (if you listen in on his radio frequency), is simply brilliant! His voice acting is part of the reason Elijah is one of my all-time favorite Fallout characters and definitely my favorite Fallout antagonist :D

Jason Spisak as Vulpes Inculta - my second favorite, his voice conveys a perfect mixture of cruelty and furtiveness, which fits the character so well.

Laura Bailey as Christine/Vera Keys - Her voice *IS* Christine's as far as I'm concerned, and the recordings of Vera's final moments as played back by the holograms in the Suites are some of the creepiest and most emotionally-charged moments in Dead Money, for me.

Rachel Roswell as Cass - she portrays Cass perfectly, when I first heard her speak it felt completely believable and in character.

Dave Mitchell as God - intelligent, calculated, disdainful, full of anger (another DM character, heh, but like others I think the voice acting in that DLC was top notch)

And I could go on :P I enjoyed most of the cast from Old World Blues as well, especially the Think Tank, Muggy and Toaster.

I can't think of anyone I absolutely hated, but Benny's lines felt somewhat forced to me, and some of the generic characters sometimes spoke as though reading off a script, for sure.

I really loved Cam Clarke as Dr.Mobius.

Not sure that the other actors names were but I loved the rest of the doctors as well. Also the stealth suit voiced by girl from Qore :D.

Veronica Belmont I think is her name... Odd because i've never watched that PS3 thing she hosts, or anything she's been in for that matter.

I figured the only reason they got her to do some of the voice acting was because they didn't have to pay her.

I'm sure she got paid for it.

I also think six might have been involved. You don't just give someone a voice-acting role (and Belmont was given multiple parts) to someone just because they happen to be in broadcasting. Katie Couric is in broadcasting too. Doesn't mean she can act.

They way it appeared to me from the video was that she was just at the studio doing a story about the new DLC, and they were like, "Hey do you want to do the voices of some things?" and she was all "lollolol sure!"

I could be wrong but that was my take on it.
