I dont have xbox live set up , as its technically problematic right now...even though I can get online.

That said , does anyone know how I can get the expansion addons for fallout 3 and fallout new vegas ?
I'm thinking it's maybe possible to download them somewhere and burn to disc , bypassing xbox live.

ps. Im not advocating piracy. I have both full games. I bought a fallout 3 expansion on dvd called "broken steel and point lookout" but its the only one i've seen on disc.
Is there anywhere to buy the expansions on disc ?
Ive seen there is an ultimate edition coming out that has all the expansions on , but I already have the two full games , and i dont want to , or need to , buy the full games again................just the expanssions.

Any ideas ?

ps.....what's a DLC ?

DLC = DownLoadableContent

It is smaller than an expansion pack and is just to offer you something new, many games offer DLC ranging from rpgs where you get weapon packs or something to FPS's where you get map packs.

For fallout 3 gamestop should sell all discs for their DLC like the one you have, just look around and you may find it. To install it easy, place it right in the disc drive play game, it will take you to a screen where you can dowload them.

Not sure about New Vegas, just connect to xbox live momentarily, you don't need xbox live gold, just silver. Then buy them off the market place.

I do want the fallout 3 / fallout new vegas DLC though , but i dont want to pay for xbox live just to get them

can't you get it with silver? just connect your xbox to the internet and you should be able to download them all

Sell your fallout 3 copy and buy the Game of the year edition, it comes with all the expansion packs and a full copy of the game, im sure you could find it at any place tha sales video games. As for New Vegas, you could go on xboxlive, or... wait until early next year for the Game of the year edition for New vegas, which will also come with the full game and all the expansions...

I can't believe I didn't think of this before. Go to gamestop and they should have a little area where a whole bunch of cards are for unlockables. Fallout New Vegas' DLC should be on there, otherwise try ebay.

I would love to be able to connect to xbox live to download the expansions , but the situation is this.
I have wireless internet but i dont have a wireless network thinger that plugs into the 360 , so , and i just tried this a few minutes ago............i plugged an ethernet cable into the laptop and the other end into the back of the 360.....tested network and nada !! nothing.......so i reset the 360 settings to default ( as it was used by someone else before i bought it ) , tested it again and still nothing.

I love this game , but it looks like the only way i can get these expansions is to wait for someone to put them on disc. Everything is about upgrades these days !!!

Uh, if you can plug the ehternet cable into your laptop, you can plug the ethernet cable directly to your xbox.

Also cant you get the Complete edition, or Game of the Year edition or what ever it's called?

Fallout 3 now have the Game of the Year edition, which I believe is now the standard copy most game retailers stock (I haven't seen a regular copy in ages)

It's been confirmed that New Vegas Ultimate Edition will be released sometime next February, which will have ALL the DLCs (the 4 story DLCs plus Courier's Stash and GRA). As far as I know, that's the only way you can get New Vegas DLCs on disc format.

As some other people have said, just buy the GOTY edition for FO3, and Ultimate for NV. FO3 GOTY costs around $30, so its not too steep, and Im guessin Ultimate will cost around $60-70.

If you dont want to do that, as someone else has said, the DLC for NV should be on cards at your local GameStop/EB Games. Or any other gaming store.

If that doesnt work out for you, just buy an Ethernet cable and plug it into the back of your Xbox. Thats what I do with mine.. And as for buying the DLC, you dont need a Gold account (Where you have to pay), just a Silver account, which is free to make, and will still allow you to download/buy stuff from the marketplace. If you STILL cannot figure that out, go over a friends house who has Xbox live hooked up, bring your Hard Drive/Memory Card, download the DLCs to your account (You still have to make a Xbox Live Silver account though..) and you should be good to go......

No, the expansions are not currently avaialable on disc, however, there is an ultimate edition due out on February 7th.
